I'm having a house party with about 200 guests friends and family teensn and children included. the last time we had a house party there alot of teens and some pre teens that were consuming alcohol from beer to margaritas to jack and coke. I and the other 3 hosts tried to keep a close eye but sometimes the parents were no help and some even were offended and accused us being rude and stingy, being a little drunk themselves. I would hate to have the same issue again and I dont want to have issues if any cops show up for watever reason I'm stressed. I tried putting a responsibble adult but he could't keep the children from drinking from their parents drinks. Please help me.

Wow, that sounds like a tough one. You should lock up (padlock) the cabinets with alcohol. If there are many, put all the alcohol in one cabinet and lock it up. Or, simply do not have alcohol on the premises. If that is a problem, try hiding it in a unlikely place (some shelf in the basement, attic, shed, or even under the house!). Just remember to go and get it when the party's over! Another idea is to ask a neighbor or friend to keep it at their house during the party. Do NOT tell the teens or anybody anything about hiding it, though. Good luck, hope i helped!

You could write out a card or a sign that says:"Thank you for attending our party. While we enjoy the company of all and encourage our guests to have fun, we have one major rule. NOBODY under the age of 21 is allowed to have alcohol on our premises. We are expecting the parents to aide us in enforcing this. PLEASE do not give your underage children alcohol tonight. Although you are their parents and you are their caretakers, this is our HOME and we are ultimately liable for anything that may happen. If at any point in time we find that you are not respecting our wishes you will be asked to leave..."

Or have anyone under 21 stay in a cretain area of the house and only allowed out in the other part wiht supervision of someone sober... That may mean hiring an adult babysitter but it's your home and your guests should respect your wishes if they expect an invitation the next time around. FAMILY OR NOT

WHAT?!?!?! Dont let ANYONE tell you that you have no control over the parents. IT's your property YOU are the one LIABLE and like i said if the parents wont be parents because they are afraid of being uncool they can LEAVE....you may not be the kids parents but that doesnt mean you arent the responsible adult!!!!

You can't control how parents raise (or don't raise) their children, unfortunately. If you're really worried about the same group of underage drinkers, and the parents don't care, then don't invite those people. If you feel that uncomfortable with the underage drinkers and your liablity, then don't put yourself or your co-hosts in a potentially dangerous situation. However, an alternative would be to have someone stationed at the liquor table all the time. If the parents let the teens drink, then there's nothing you can do to control that.

Hire an off duty cop or two to "police" not only the kids, but the givers of alcohol. Here in CA you have to have them at say a wedding reception or function because of the alcohol and anyone who might get rowdy and need to be removed. And for a party that size, I'd recommend it.

Hi! I am a Drug and Alcohol counselor and have been clean and sober for 18 years. You could attempt to educate your guests prior to your party, and or you could have the alcohol bar in its own room or space and takes turns having a type of "drink guard" no ID no booze. It is sad to hear that with all of the information that is available for the public with regards to the disease of addiction and alcoholism, parents continue to let their children drink. They could later become the parents of a child in rehabilitation. Not cool. Good luck

Large parties serving alcohol should be adults only.
Large parties with children should not serve alcohol.

Because, it is simply impossible, as you have already discovered, to prevent children from being children. If it is there, they will find a way to get it. Period.

do you have to invite that teens again? if you really must then put the alcohols around the adults places and keep the teens in another place. play a dvd or karaoke and all the teens will go there so you can have your mind free!

have your party be adults only..i would not risk going to jail for anyone! and if it is your home..or even if you are at someone Else's home and underage drinking is going on..and you know it..it is your responsibility to report it..do not compromise .
