I'm holding a themed 80's party and I can't for the life of me remember what sort of food to serve. All the websites I've found mostly talk about sweet food and drinks. Any ideas for savoury stuff?

these three dips were at every 80's party

onion dip
Knorr Spinach dip
broccoli cheese dip

And back in the late 70's, the University Club in Houston served this queso recipe, and it's the one I still go back to.

Chili Con Queso

1 med. onion, sliced thin
2 T. butter
1 10 oz can tomatoes with green chilis, liquid included
1 5oz. can evaporated milk
1 8 oz. box Velveeta, cubed

Saute onion in butter until limp. Add all other ingredients and stir well. Cook over low heat until most liquid has evaporated.

We love this with build your own tacos!

Cubes of cheese (or spam?), pickled onions or olives or pineapple cubes (so tropical!!) skewered on cocktails sticks and stuck into a grapefruit - was the height of 80's party chic. Ritz cracker canapes spread with fish paste topped with a shrimp.

Did we change the fayre that much from what we served in the 70's?

I still remember Cheese & Pineapple on sticks, vaul-au-vents. + sausages, sandwiches, quarter pork pies.

Oooh, cheese wrapped and cooked in breadcrumbs rings a bell.
