I'd go with the spagetti dinner. Find out first somehow if he likes pasta to eat. Than go from ther with a full course meal. Small and easy for you do not want to be in the kitchen all the time he is there. Prepare some things ahead of time and when he has been there for some time and you want to go to the kitchen to begin getting it going-ask him to join you in helping. For instance, you have the salad already but need to add the rest of the ingredients. Have them cut and ready to just place in the salad. Ask him to mix it together for you. While he is doing this, keep a conversation going on all the time. You will be stirring up the spagetti sauce while he is doing the salad. If he wants to help out more with other things than by all means do so., but make it simple and easy. Than the both of you head off to the table with your dinner...have him open the bottle of wine (if you haven't started that while cooking, lol) and enjoy the evening together.

You should cook steaks. Why? Because most men love a good steak. Another reason is it is simple, and won't take away from your conversation time. If you are cooking pasta, slicing, sauteing, you get the pic. With steaks, have a really nice salad ready in the fridg before he arrives. Make a nice dressing to put on at the last minute. Have baked potatoes cooked with the stove turned off, keeping them warm. So the only thing left to do is put the steaks on the grill. I have a really good marinade that I make if you are interested. Ribeye steaks are the best , in my opinion, to grill.

Cook pasta according to package directions. Combine the chicken with the pasta and bake for 7-10 minutes in oven temp 325°F.

Ok...someone gave this to me to cook for a first date about 3 1/2 years ago and it is still going strong.
I can't tell you how good this is and how easy it is....

Yummy Chicken
2 chicken breasts
1 ½ - 2 tbsps real Hellmann’s mayonnaise
1 cup bread crumbs (any flavor)
2 tbsps pace picante
2 large slices of jalapeno jack cheese

Pound chicken breast thin
Cover each chicken breast in mayo
Lightly cover each chicken breast with bread crumbs after covering in mayo.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350-375 degrees
Take out a pour a tbsp of pace on top of each cooked chicken breast.
Then cover with the jalapeno jack cheese (enough to cover the chicken breast. Bake another 5 minutes until cheese is melted.

BTW..Spaghetti is too iffy..it could end up in your lap, steaks are too heavy and pasta is good but I think this is better.

Good Luck

since men are carnivores for real....
the steak is best.
with a hefty baked potato....
rib eyes are the best or a t-bone......
make sure u season with lawry's seasoned salt, garlic powder and rub butter over the steak.
grill under the broiler to desired look and taste, usually 5-7 minutes depending on the way u like it..
cook the baked potato and melt cheese over it and have a good drink, and u should be fine..........
u could also saute mushrooms and onions to go over the steak too........
be sure to tenderize the steak......

Go with what you cook really well. Most guys love Italian food and they certainly won't turn down a good steak. Fix whatever is easiest on your nerves and budget. Create some nice ambience by having candles, flowers, etc. in your home. And, congratulations on your own place!

If he's a steak eater, fix steak, baked potato, salad, rolls and cheesecake. This is a classic meal that most everyone loves!

I would do this and it's not too hard

INGREDIENTS:

inch pieces
1 yellow bell pepper, cut into 1
inch pieces
1 green bell pepper, cut into 1
inch pieces
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (14.5 ounce) can peeled and
diced tomatoes
1 (10 ounce) can diced
tomatoes with green chile
peppers 1 pound angel hair pasta
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 skinless, boneless chicken
breast halves - cut into bite size
pieces
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
cheese

DIRECTIONS:
1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook red, yellow and green bell peppers in 2 tablespoons olive oil with garlic until just tender. Stir in diced tomatoes and diced tomatoes with chiles, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer 10 minutes. Remove to a serving bowl.
2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain.
3. While pasta is cooking, heat 2 tablespoons oil and butter over medium heat in a large skillet. Cook chicken in butter mixture until juices run clear, 5 to 10 minutes. Place cooked chicken over tomato sauce and sprinkle with basil, rosemary, thyme, garlic powder and Parmesan. Serve with cooked pasta.

What do YOU feel most comfortable cooking? Don't pretend and be something you're not, that is not the way to keep a relationship honest and long. Make you what you think youmake best.

Besides, anything looks and tastes better in candlelight!

You should cook his favorite meal, ask him! If you dont know how to cook it, then you should stick with pasta, spagetti, and the other ones you suggested. Dont worry, it'll be fine!
