I'm throwing a bridal shower for my sister and I'm looking for good suggestions. ..

My cousin is moving out of state in a few weeks and the only day she can get together is on the 22nd. We are throwing her a "Going Away" party. However, this day also happens to be my other cousin's birthday (and the host's daughter). She isn't actually celebrating her birthday during the party - it is more of a "Going Away" party; however, we don't want her to feel left out. Is it possible to celebrate both parties at once? How would we handle the decor? Half Birthday, half Bon Voyage? Or we could do a Luau maybe? I am confused. We just aren't sure how to do both so no one gets their feelings hurt. They are both in their early twenties. How can we have one party for two celebrations?

I've seen bakeries advertise that they can transfer a photo on to cakes, but I don't want to sacrifice the deliciousness of a homemade cake. Any suggestions??

having an end of the summer party and i have to pay for it myself. how much money should i save (for decorations, food, etc.). also it would be helpful if i knew how much money to save for each particular [sp?] catagory. there will be 27 people (too many???). the main event will probably be the scavenger hunt. anything else i should do? any advice would be helpful!!!

ps: decorations probably wont have to be very big since the age range is 12 - 13.

I was wondering, do I have to put this on the invitations? I would hate for people to be late and miss it. If I should put it on the invites, how should I word it? Do I need to put the time he is arriving?

I was thinking a dirt cake might be cute b/c my boyfriends b'day is on friday the 13th... but then I thought "if someone made me a dirt cake on my birthday i'd be kind of pissed"... but he says friday the 13th is lucky b/c he was also born on a friday the 13th... I don't really know what to do now.
I could make him a cake for his birthday and then a dirt cake for the party... he'll be 23... i'm making this too big of a deal!!
Ramble, ramble, ramble....

I am hosting a wine tasting and need to come up with a fun easy to do theme to decorate with and an couple of appetizers to go with the theme. The tasting party will be outside, dockside at a lake. I don't want the usual luau theme. My dock is one of 10 stops on a wine tasting cruise and I want my stop to stand out above the rest. There will be a red and a white wine served at each house, I am not sure of the type yet. HELP!
