Any one have any original ideas for a star themed bridal shower? I can do invitations, and a star cake. I am wondering if anyone has any new/different ideas, and also any ideas in tying in her colors, which are black, white, and red. Thanks In advance!

Wow! That'll be really pretty. How about art mobiles or some stars hanging from either the ceiling or if outside from tree brances? You can buy floating candles that are star shaped for either decor or gifts. You could also get some star shaped cookie cutters and make finger sandwiches. Star shaped glitter on the table clothes. Those star shaped latterns that you put candles or battery operated x-mas lights in would be really pretty in an evening shower. You could either hang those or just set them on tables.

I just would be careful about have too many star shaped things and maybe go for the essense of stars, which in my mind would be midnight blue and silver, sparkle/shine, mystery, twinkling lights, etc

I love planning parties- can you tell?

Did you also know that you can have a star named for the happy couple? In keeping with your theme, you might want to consider going online to starregistry.com and getting a package for them! Ok, back to the shower..... I'd incorporate some other colors, such as silver or gold to accentuate the star theme. You can purchase stick-on stars for decorations and a theme might be "You're Out of This World". Also consider bringing in decorations of planets, comets, and the sun. I'd use a navy blue or black linens for the tables, sprinkled with silver star cutouts, place a mirror under a flower arrangement of white and red flowers with silver accents. Napkins can be crisp white, tied with silver star twine used for wrapping. Guest favors can keep with the star theme as well by using a gold or silver organza material to make goodie bags and tied with more of the silver or gold star twine. Fill the goodie bags with lip balms, mini fragrances, candy etc. Food should be of the appetizer genre and might include puff pastries filled with olive tapenade and feta, small spinach quiches, etc.
