I'm going to the Philippines to celebrate my grandmother's 80th birthday and we want to throw her an angel-themed birthday party to commemorate my late grandfather who watches over us and also because her name has "angel" in it. I'm looking for disposable things like confetti, hanging things, wall decorations, banners and such. I live in the DC area but will most definitely buy some online if I can only find some! Thanks for any help you can provide.

Right my sister in law was on a very tight budget. she was given silly prices for a 3 tier cake. Then she thought of baking it. so we helped her out and its just a plain white iced round cake size 10,8 & 6.
we have a round base in silver where the 10" cake will sit, but we need to put these little roman pillars inbetween each tier.

Trouble is the the 8 & 6" cakes are not staying quite stable on the pillars and are abit wobbly and could or keep threatening to fall off!

How could we secure the cake and make a 3 tier cake. do we take the cake off the cake boards?

help she's in tears!!!

(but we're teens, so calm down, lol) got any ideas of things to do while we're hosting the party. (spin the bottle, etc is acceptable) thanks!

i am having a surprise 50th birthday party for my sister. there will be about 40 people there, start around 2pm. i will be supplying the food and booze. the items on the menu will be meatballs and sausage, chicken, shrimp and chorizo, pork loin, hot dogs and burgers (for the kids) and a few different sides. sangria will be the main drink, but of course i will have beer, wine and liquor (there will be a good drinking crowd). we are on a tight budget, so what is the best way to figure out how much of each item i need? any input, ideas will be appreciated.
thanks

What have others done for the parent's 50, 60, or 70th birthdays?

The party is during the day (12-4pm). She wants to have dancing but thinks that no one will want to dance in the afternoon. The venue is an outdoor tented area adjacent to a Yacht Club/boathouse on a pier for 80-100 people.

Personally, with the right entertainment/music I think people will dance. Plus, we are throwing her a really nice party, it is not completely ideal for her because it is not in the evening.

Anyway, any suggestions are welcome if they worked or didn't work for your parent's birthday.

Thanks!

I have one of those plastic portable cake holders. I'm bringing it to a party tomorrow, should I put a plate under the cake or should I place the cake directly on the base of the cake carrier?
