Does anyone have any websites or any cake ideas for a baby shower?

I am having someone make it, just wanted some ideas to give them. The baby's room is going to be butterflies and flowers. Just wanted something different and cute.

For a baby girl cake, we did pink booties and wrote "Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice." At my shower for my son, we did a train to match his room decor. A cute idea would be to decorate the cake like a jar of baby food or even have it shaped like one - especially if the actual flavor of the cake could be incorporated into the label design. I've also seen beatiful shower cakes that look just like a baby blanket with tassels and everything. You could also do several "baby" cakes instead of one larger cake - maybe a centerpiece made entirely of cupcakes.

You can go to a bakery and ask them to show you a book of different designs for your cake. Some make cakes the shape of a baby. If you were going to make the cake yourself, you can buy babies, bottles (little miniture ones) and put them on top of the cake with either baby blue or pink frosting. You can try google-ing baby shower cakes or bakeries in your area.

My daughter didn't want plastic decorations on the cake for her baby shower. I had the sheet cake made at a Publix bakery, and it turned out really cute. All in icing, outlined and airbrushed, the design was a clothesline strung between two trees, with little boy clothing hung on the line. There was a little onesie, a bib, a sleeper, t shirt, etc. One of the garments had his name on it.
At the bottom was written, "Bundle of Joy." The little clothes were in yellows and blues, the colors we used for the shower.

Are you making your own cake? What is your theme. Take the plate your using, and take the main idea and with a tooth pick draw it on the icing. then with a writing tip, outline with your colors. Your cake will match your table theme. Get other ideas at any place that sells Wilton products, look at the books. You can go hog wild on all the cake accessory's, so make a budget before you go.

If you are talking about things to do at a baby shower, you can get some plain Onesies and a lot of fabric markers and let all your guests have a great time decorating them.

I vote cupcakes and have flowers put on the top as a decoration, either real or frosting. Different, dainty, and very "in".
