You could serve both, or you could just grill the pizza. Medium high heat, oil the dough on both sides. Cook the top first, then flip it over and put the sauce and toppings on the just-cooked side. Put the lid on it until the crust is done on the bottom and the cheese is melted. Make sure you use the finely shredded mozzarella and chop the toppings small.
I grill pizza all of the time, and as long as you stand there and watch it, it doesn't stick to the grill at all. You'll want a large platter and a couple of spatulas to lift it and carry it. I also recommend flipping the crust over and topping it right on the grill.

If the party is for your Dad - do as he wishes - it's his time to have fun. No one will care or maybe even remember the bbq on the invitation - pizza is fine...to little of a thing to stress about - have a good time and show Dad a good time by giving a fun party - no matter what you serve!

First of all who is paying for the party? Second of all what is cheaper for that person? Come on everybody loves pizza just as much as a BBQ.

If you look around on the Internet, there's actually pizza recipes made for the grill. I watched Bobby Flay on the food network do it once. I have yet to try it out but it looked pretty simple. You can also make the pizza to whatever size you would like: small, personal in case your dad is the only one who wants pizza or larger if you would like to provide a taste to all your party attendees.

Since your dad is paying for the party, you will have to do as he wishes. Just Email your friends about the change in the menu. Everyone loves pizza, so I don't see where it will be any problem.

Let dad know that your invites already say BBQ, if he won't budge on the pizza idea than just order BBQ chicken pizza's.

if the party is at your house, throw 2 or 3 pizzas in the oven, if its at a venue, phone for delivery, everyone LOVES pizza, not everyone likes a Bar-b-Q, its only pizza, and it is your dad, just enjoy

BBQ the pizza! Put the dough on the grill with your favorite toppings, and cook over indirect heat.
