It's very important for girls to know cooking. And for boys, too! How will you survive if you can't cook? You can't live on takeout - at least not for long. It'll either kill you or your pocket book. Besides, it's fun to take a recipe and add your own twists to it. I added extras to the chicken strips I made for dinner tonight and my family likes it a lot better than the original recipe. That's one that'll be handed down, along with my banana bread recipe. My daughter is 13 and has been cooking for a few years and my 9 year old son is starting to cook once in a while, too!

It's only important if you want to eat.
Everyone should know how to cook even if it's only simple foods. Otherwise you are confined to eating ready cooked, or canned, or raw. Dulllllll. Borrrring. Unhealthy.
Good food is a pleasure, bad food is a chore.
Go to see Ratatouile. If a rat can cook well so can everyone.

Not necessarily. I mean most foods nowadays can be prepared with the simple press of a button or be bought from the store/restaurant but learning how to cook is a wonderful skill that everyone can use. Plus, nothing beats home cooked food. And whats better than discovering a new recipe to pass down through your family? Nothing. Okay well...maybe winning the lottery but still. :P

Its important for everyone to know how to cook. For instance, when my husband and I starting living together I had no idea how to make anything. But I thought that I don't want my kids growing up eating box meals, I want my future children to know how to get by, so I think I've improved a lot. That's why I learned how to cook, also because why my husband is out bringing home the bacon, I'll be home making it for him.

it's important but not just for girls to know how to cook. I would like to marry/be married to a guy who can also cook for the family - say, we take turns to cook and share our domestic duties.
