I make up my beef stew with beef broth & a VARIETY of veggies, butter & spices. I use "potato buds" to thicken up the watery broth to give it some "weight" every now & then. UNFORTUANTLY, I get complaints from others that my "thickened" up stew has a consistency/taste of a "potato mush". Any other ways to thicken the broth of stew than using potato buds?

I'm a Disabled Veteran and live alone, and, today I was at a Restaurant and had a cup of Decaff Coffee and it was very tasty. Surely they may use a tasty type of Coffee, but, I'm thinking they just use the right amount.

When I make a Pot of Coffee, I only use 5 "heaping" Tablespoons of Coffee for a 12 cup pot. My Coffee just isn't that tasty. It's rather bland and seems weak.

I use either Hills Bros. or, Folgers "Regular or French Roast". How much should I use to make a Tasty Pot so each cup has a definitive Coffee taste?

What kind of Coffee would you use? I don't like the Coffee's like Hazelnut or Vanilla tastes, and I don't buy or have Cappuccino except once in a great while,......usually seasonaly.

Ladies or anyone that likes a good tasty cup of Coffee ......how much should I use in a standard 12 cup drip maker??

Thanks!

I have a simple Banana Bread Mix (from Trader Joe's)....it calls for 2 large eggs, 1/3 cup of veg.oil and 3/4 cup of water....

My question is : If I add one or two bananas to the mix will it be too mushy, or should I substitute the bananas for a egg or the oil???

Okay so I was following a recipe to make a pie on a website and it said you could use plastic wrap to help roll out the dough (you put plastic wrap on both sides and then rollit). That worked very well but the only thing I did wrong is I didn't take one side off and then place the side without plastic wrap into the pan....I put the pie crust straight into the pan, leaving the layer of plastic wrap between it and the bottom of the pan. Then I cooked it like that! The oven was at 425 for 15 min and 350 for another 30 min. It looks awesome, you can't see the plastic wrap under the pie crust. Anyone know if when plastic wrap melts it would stick to the pie crust? Or did the plastic even melt? (there was some butter in the pie crust).

Any ideas on how to serve it? Should I just peal it off each slice.

This is my first like using yahoo answers so I'm not sure how it works but any answers will only be helpful if I get them tonight. (This is for school!!!)AHHHH!

Since school is out for summer, and I have about one more week before summer school starts, I decided that I was going to spend some time making some of my best meals and dishing up plates for the homeless. If you were going to cook for someone else, what would you be preparing? My menu today is: Baked garlic chicken and dressing with gravy, pork cutlets in cream soup, fresh turnip greens with green onions, tomatoes and pickeled beets, candied apples with cinnamon, fried sweet corn, corn bread, homemade lemon ice tea, hand churned vanilla/toffee ice cream with homemade chunky chocolate chip cookies (the size of your hand!)
