1. Cook 1 lb hamburger. Once it's brown, add some dried onion, 1 tsp sugar, a little ground pepper, 3/4 tsp salt, 1 tsp garlic salt, 2 small cans of tomato sauce.

2. Mix 1/4 c sour cream, 1 c cottage cheese, 1 8 oz bar of cream cheese. Stir until soft and well mixed

3. Cook 4 c egg noodles according to package.

In a baking dish, spread 1/2 of the cooked noodles. Cover with a little of the hamburger/tomato sauce mixture. Daub all the cheese mixture over this, and carefully spread it evenly. Spread the rest of the noodles over the cheese. Spread the rest of the hamburger/tomato sauce mixture over the noodles. Liberally grate parmesan cheese over the entire dish. (Fresh grated parmesan is much better than what comes in the green can.) Cook for 1/2 hour at 350. Makes a yummy lasagne-like casserole. The left-overs are even better.

Spaghetti and meatballs are always a crowdpleaser even if it's for three. Tacos, sloppy joes, hamburger steaks and gravy, regular spaghetti with meat sauce, beef stroganoff with ground hamburger meat, chili, beef stew with hamburger meat, shepherd's pie, and taco soup are all good choices to use hamburger meat for.

go for tacos:

Cook up the ground beef with some garlic, onion, chilli (just a little if people don't like it too hot), and some peeled, diced tomatoes. Allow this to simmer until the tomatoes thicken.

Chop up some lettuce, capsicum, avocado*, tomato, and grate some cheese. Serve these separately on a big plate, or in individual bowls.

Heat the taco shells per the instructions on the box, and allow everyone to fill them with the beef, the salad, cheese, and top with sour cream.

*alternately, you could mash up the avocado with some lemon juice, tobasco sauce, and salt and pepper to make guacamole.

If you are to lazy to fill the shells (hey, sometimes I am!), crush them up and mix them in a bowl with the beef, the salad, the cheese, and the sour cream. Hey presto, taco salad!

YUM!

1 small onion, chopped
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

4 ounces mushroom stems and pieces, drained
3/4 cup sour cream, or yogurt

In medium skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain excess fat. Stir in garlic salt, pepper, soup and mushrooms. Simmer covered, 15 to 20 minutes. Stir in sour cream; heat through, but do not boil. Serve over rice, noodles or chow mein noodles.

1/4 c. green pepper
1/4 c. onion (optional)
1/2 tsp. black pepper and salt
1/2 c. mild Cheddar cheese

Brown ground beef with salt and pepper. Cook rice. Saute celery, green pepper, onion. Preheat oven 350-375 degrees. In medium baking dish, combine all ingredients. Mix well. Bake 30-35 minutes.

GROUND BEEF BARBEQUE

Diced pepper, if desired (I omit this!)
3/4 c. catsup
1/4 c. smoked barbecue sauce
1 tsp. dry mustard

shepherd's pie: in a pie plate line the bottom with pie crust-- next; brown ground beef and onion and put it on the pie crust-- on top of that put green peas (or corn) ( or carrots) or peas and carrots) and on top of that-- mashed potatoes-- sprinkle cheese over that with a little paprika and parsley flakes and put in 350* oven for 40 minutes. dinner is ready
