I need to know how much meat I need for a BBQ for 20 adults and 20 children. We are serving Burgers, Brats, and Hot Dogs, but have no idea what people will actually eat. Is there a "rule of thumb" for this situation?

My husband and his brother, sister in law, father and mother are going to the beach. I was volunteered to cook one night. I am not creative. I don't want to bring a cookbook and hope I can decide on something that I have never tried myself. Need something simple, fairly inexpensive and really tasty (with safe ingredients, nothing too out there). All recipes are appreciated!

Its my dogs birthday in 5 days time and I want to repay its loyalty to me by making it a dog birthday cake. The thing is though, the dog has a very sensitive digestive system. It is intollerant to normal proprietry dog-food, and has a wheat and dairy product allergy, and cannot eat pastry. The only vegetable it will eat is artichoke. It can only really eat chicken and seafood, and particularly likes lobster and any type of fish. Can anyone supply a recipe for a 'cake' using these ingredients as a base. Thanks

A recipe I'm making calls for me to flambe the cognac. I'm practicing with brandy, but nothing is happening. I'm getting the pan as hot as possible, then I take it off, pour the alcohol in, put it back on the burner, but it just boils, then almost evaporates. What am I doing wrong??

I'm making brownies from scratch, and I have heard that I can substitute apple sauce for the butter, but is it an even 1:1 ratio? Such as 1/2 cup of butter substituted for 1/2 of apple sauce?

Also, has anyone tried this and how did it taste?

My boyfriend wants to open a restaurant but wants to have something new, which is obviously pretty hard now-a-days...He is Puerto Rican and from South Carolina and so I was thinking he could incorporate those two elements into amazing dishes.

Any ideas of dishes we could create that I could pitch to him?
