hors d'oeuvres

I imagine they are still referred to as hors d'oeuvres, since the French tried to occupy sections of Africa for many many years. Hors d'oeuvres is a universal, world-wide name. Like the F' word. Everybody uses it, and knows what it means. Although, serving hors d'oeuvres is friendlier than serving up the F' word. I hope I helped ya out! :-)
