Hi, am trying to learn how to cook but want something that offers traditional basic recipes such roast dinners, how to cook pork chops, pasta dishes, cakes and desserts such as Lemon Meringue Pie. All the ones I've found so far seem to offer strange recipes. I don't eat much in the way of vegetables or meat at the moment and am living on microwave dinners but really want to be able to cook a proper meal. Any suggestions gratefully recieved.

My son will be attending classes that do not offer refrigeration for lunches. I've thought about freezing juice boxes or can small carton's of milk be frozen?
Also, what to eat? He is allergic to peanuts/nuts, so peanut butter is out. Thanks for your input!

If you make a pot of rice and then have some left over, can you unplug it and leave the rice in overnight and use the same rice the next day if you plug the cooker back in and put it on warm?

Or does the rice just go bad?
