Ingredients
1/4 cup Orange juice
1/2 cup Club soda
1 medium Banana, peeled
3 cup Fresh fruit pieces *
1/2 tsp Ground nutmeg
1/4 tsp Ground cardamom
1 tbsp Coconut, flaked & toasted


Directions

* Fruits such as cantaloupe, grapes, pineapple, apple, pear,
nectarine, plum, honeydew melon, blueberries, strawberries.

Combine the orange juice, club soda, and banana in a blender and puree
until smooth. Pour over the fresh fruit mixture. Sprinkle with the
nutmeg and cardamom.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to serve. Sprinkle on the coconut
and serve immediately. Per 1/2 cup serving: 81 calories,

Umm, I don't think ambrosia is a fruit. It was a drink made out of honey in Greek mythology, and there is a kind of weed that causes allergies also called ambrosia, but I've never heard of a fruit w/ that name.

Ambrosia Salad

* 1 cup mixed fruit chunks or fruit cocktail, drained
* 1/2 cup Mandarin orange sections
* 1/2 cup pineapple tidbits
* 1/2 cup minature marshmallows
* 3/4 cup sour cream, or as desired
* 1/4 cup maraschino cherries, halved
* 1/4 cup red seedless grapes
* lettuce leaves

PREPARATION:
Drain fruits well. Combine all ingredients except lettuce, mixing gently but throughly. Chill.
Serve on lettuce leaves.

Fruit Ambrosia

Serves 6



1 cup granulated sugar


2 kiwis, peeled and cut into wedges

1 orange, segmented

1 cup blackberries

2 plums, cut into wedges

1 cup 1/2-inch-diced pineapple

2 nectarines, cut into wedges

1 cup sweetened coconut, plus more for garnishing

2 cups heavy cream

2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar

3 tablespoons amaretto

1. Make: In a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium-high heat, combine sugar,ew and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, and lower heat to medium. Cook for 20 minutes; set aside to cool.

2. In a medium bowl, mix together kiwis, orange, blackberries, plums, pineapple, nectarines, and coconut. Drizzle about 1 cup syrup over the fruit mixture. Using a rubber spatula, gently stir the fruit.

3. Place heavy cream and confectioners’ sugar in a large bowl. Using a wire whisk, whip cream to form soft peaks. Fold in amaretto.

4. Spoon 2 tablespoons whipped cream into each of six glasses, then some fruit; continue until the glasses are topped with 1/4 cup cream. Sprinkle with coconut, and serve immediately.

ambrosia was the food of the gods the elixir of life in greek myth. there is no recipe for it because only the gods knew how to make it


ps the word ambrosia means something delightful to taste or smell

Its a mix of different fruit cut into bite size chunks. What fruit you put in there is up to you but its usually similar to fruit cocktail (pineapple, papaya, pears, peaches, nectarines, or whatever you desire). Some people add different things to it like coconut, some type of nuts like almonds or walnuts. I dont care for coconut or nuts so I pick them out :-) Also some people add fruit juice such as pineapple juice or a lil bit of lemon juice to keep it from drying out. Ive even heard of marshmallows being added. I like marshmallows but geez! Enjoy!
