We are having guests next week for the entire week. There will be about 16 of us for three meals a day. Breakfast and lunch will be no problem but I'm looking for some easy, inexpensive recipes that we can fix either in the crock pot, on the grill or in advance to keep the heat out of the kitchen in the evenings. I live in the south and it's begining to get hot. I'm already fixing lasagna one night and probably burgers and hotdogs another. Any other suggestions?

I need to use a buttermilk substitute, (1 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice and then letting it sit for a few minutes).

Do I need to use whole milk?

What does everyone serve with their Hamburger Helper dinners? Today I made Beef Stroganoff flavor with some sweet Jiffy cornbread and a can of Popeye spinach. Soooo yummy! Lol! Can you tell I'm just learning (at 25!) to cook?

My mom used to make it. (I can't ask her because she passed away.) The best I can remember it had, ground beef, onions, bell peppers, and elbow macaroni. What else?

It may also be known as "empanada", but you can't use the dough recipe for meat fillings (dough is too flaky). This pastry calls for flour, sugar, shortening, water, salt, baking powder and maybe something else. NO eggs and only oil for coating on top before baking. Also, it involves a lot of rolling and folding of the dough while adding generous amounts of flour. Then it's filled with preserves and folded into a triangular shaped (DOES NOT use the pastry press thing) and BAKED, not fried.

Can anyone please help?

I eat fish, other half doesn't. I really fancy salmon and thought I would do him a steak. Does anyone know if there a sauce that goes with salmon and steak? Alternatively I really fancy hollandaise which is lovely with salmon, so does anyone know if there is a meat that goes with hollandaise?! Just can't be bothered to make two seperate sauces!
