Vegetables, vegetables, vegetables and some bread. We can never have too many vegetables. Salad and dark green veggies are good (like spinach, good choice), but I would avoid starchy veggies like potatoes and corn, you've got plenty of starch in your noodles and bread. If you've got a picky family that doesn't like those dark green veggies like broccoli, spinach, and green beans, try spicing them up a bit. Saute spinach, broccoli, or green beans in a little olive oil and lots of garlic, or try a little cheese sauce (melt a slice of american cheese in a little bit of milk and drizzle on top, works great for my family). I keep lots of frozen veggies in my freezer for easy healthy side dishes. Try to avoid canned veggies, they're usually loaded with salt.

Salad and Bread.......But just being 25 and starting out, I'd suggest other things besides Hamburger Helper. Go to the website Cooks.com and you can find any recipe you want and alot of them are soooo easy and don't call for alot of ingredients, and you'll be so proud of yourself that you "went outside the box"....haha. Anyway, good luck learning to cook, I was 25 when I learned to cook and now I have a small catering business and baking business.....sure wish I had had Cooks.com 15 years ago!!!

For sides, you can make a cucumber, red onion, parsley and tomato salad along with garlic bread. Slice an italian roll in slices and toast lightly, pour butter, garlic and parsley as a spread. Mamma mia that's a nica italiana meala!

Both are good for you, each fruit/vegetable has different vitamins. Therefore as more variety, as better. Vegetables have generally less sugar than fruits.

I have found that no matter what you serve, if you present it well, the mind will tell the stomach to love it. So, put the food, whether it be hamburger helper or spaghetti on a plate and sprinkle it with fresh chopped parsley and add a buttered piece of italian bread. Set the table to look nice rather than throw the utensils at the napkin.

It depends on what I kind I cook. I usually make the beef stroganoff or the Salsbury kind. I like to have peas with both of them. Cornbread is a must when making either of them :) I myself like to mix the peas in with the stroganoff then I put the cornbread on top and bake it in the oven. It is really good.
