I like it right out of the package, rolled up with slices of baby swiss. Why interfere with the flavor by adding bread & condiments?

Pastrami should be eaten warm to hot on rye bread (Stone rye is the best, though Jewish rye also ranks high.) and with mustard (Brown mustard is the best. Yellow mustard is fine, but is doesn't give the full effect.). Lettuce and tomato are great, though some just prefer the bare bones of rye and mustard. Cheese is a wild card. Some may try Swiss or Cheddar, but usually people don't do cheese on their pastrami. Peppers are also depending on a person's taste.
Never mix pastrami with white bread and mayo. It's disgusting.

In a toasted poppyseed & onion bagel with russian dressing, swiss cheese and sliced gherkins - that's how I'm preparing it recently, but as long as pastrami is involved then any way is good for me because I think pastrami is DIVINE!

Piled high on Jewish Rye (with seeds) with spicy brown mustard served with a Kosher pickle and a black cherry soda :) Make sure the pastrami is heated.
