I'm kind of picky with chocolate chip cookies. I like them soft, and sweet, no nuts or fruit or any of that stuff. Most recipes I've tried haven't been the best. They either come out tasting just meh or are hard. Anyone have any suggestions?
PS - (I like buttery too!)

I just recently starting using a crockpot to cook, but somehow my dishes are not coming out the way they're described like "fork tender" or "juicy".... I think I am not layering my ingredients correctly! I tried putting the meat on top, as suggested by all cookbooks, but my meat has been coming out chewy or dry. Also, some of my potatoes are coming out this weird purplish-gray color. So my questions are:

1) Meat on bottom or meat on top?

2) Do I need to put enough water in the crockpot to cover all of the ingredients, or can you cook w/o much liquid?

3) Where do I place potatoes? I thought I read somewhere to NOT put near meat or near the edges of the pot...is that what is turning some of them purplish?

Thank you!

I have a strong dislike of capers. I love olives, but my partner doesn't. Still, there are recipes that call for capers that in all other respects sound great. What ingredient could I use instead?

Ok my dates coming over in an hour. I Decided to cook a special meal for her. Basically I get 2 raw liver and mince it up ( I keep it Raw) and then I mix it with powdered sugar untill it draws all the moisture. I add 1 cup wheat germ and slowly mix it with the liver and put it in a frying pan. I blend 1 pig foot in a mixer and serve the sauce on top of the liver goodies. Shes really picky about food and I hope I did well. This is a belgium dish my neighbor taught me

For the Chinese, we will marinated the meat, be it chicken, lamb, beef or pork heavily for days (if possible) before we BBQ them.

But I notice my English friend did his BBQ without mariinating it with any soource or spice. How do the westerner marinate their meat?
