It's easy peasy to make.

1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup *mirin (sweet rice wine) (soy sauce : mirin = 1:1)
2 tbsp sugar

Mix them together until the sugar is dissolved. =)

1 Pour all ingredients in a pan.
2 Stir the mixture well.
3 Put the pan on low heat and simmer for a couple of minutes.
4 Remove from the heat and cool the mixture
5 Store the sauce in a clean bottle in the fridge.
1. You can substitute mirin with sake and sugar (sake:sugar = 3:1)
2. Adjust the amount of sugar, depending on your preference.

What You Need:

* 1/2 cup soy sauce
* 1/2 cup *mirin (sweet rice wine) (soy sauce : mirin = 1:1)
* 2 tbsp sugar

My mom's own recipe for Homemade Teriyaki sauce... it's kick ***!...

Enough soy sauce to cover 40 chicken wings in a bowl
1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup Cooking Sherry

Cut the useless tip off each wing. Place all wings in a bowl with above mixture, & marinate in the fridge for 24 hours. Rotate layers of wings a few times so all will brown evenly.
Bake the wings on a rack for 1/2 hour in a 325 degree oven.

Of course, you can use the recipe for anything, and not just wings.

1/2 c Soy sauce
1/2 c Mirin rice wine
2 Tbl Dark sugar

and I like to add 2 Tbl of a flavored oil by low heating vegetable oil with fresh ginger root and garlic cloves. Save the rest of the oil for cooking with a wok or sauteeing vegetables. Do not over heat the oil as it makes the garlic bitter when burnt, discard the ginger root and garlic.

When in a pinch I just buy Yoshida's gourmet marinade. Nothing beats it as a marinade for meat, chicken and seafood.
