2 lb potatoes
½ quart 1/2 and 1/2, 1 egg
1 spoon butter for the dish
3 oz grated gruyère (or other cheese, but skip cheddar or soft cheeses, fresh parmesan would work)
1 garlic clove, sprinkling nutmeg, salt, pepper.

Wash, peel and cut potatoes in thin slices. Smash the garlic and pass it in an oven-going serving deep-dish, coat the dish with butter.
Place one layer of potatoes, sprinkle with salt, pepper, nutmeg and the cheese, wet with 1/2 and 1/2. Second layer of potatoes, add the other part of 1/2 and 1/2, salt pepper and nutmeg, put in hot oven for 30' until hot and bubbly...

Kielbasa and Potato Bake,

INGREDIENTS:
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
2 cups milk
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound kielbasa sausage, sliced thin
4 large russet potatoes, peeled and cubed

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large mixing bowl, mix together soup, milk, garlic, salt, and pepper. Stir in potatoes and kielbasa. Spoon into a 7x11 inch casserole dish.
Place casserole on a baking sheet, and bake in the preheated oven for 90 minutes, or until potatoes are tender.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes


INGREDIENTS:
4 large baking potatoes
8 slices bacon
1 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
4 tablespoons butter
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
8 green onions, sliced, divided

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake potatoes in preheated oven for 1 hour.
Meanwhile, place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
When potatoes are done allow them to cool for 10 minutes. Slice potatoes in half lengthwise and scoop the flesh into a large bowl; save skins. To the potato flesh add sour cream, milk, butter, salt, pepper, 1/2 cup cheese and 1/2 the green onions. Mix with a hand mixer until well blended and creamy. Spoon the mixture into the potato skins. Top each with remaining cheese, green onions and bacon.
Bake for another 15 minutes.

Poke it with holes, wrap it in foil, bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or so. Take out, let cool a bit, top with butter, sour cream, cheese and chives or pico de gallo.
