Everyday I pack him his lunch for school. Of course I alternate from bologna to ham, and sometimes give him lunch money if he does not want another sandwich. Along with his lunch, I pack him a fruit and another snack like cookies or chips. I always make sure he eats before he goes to school. He is ADHD, so I know that his medication would will give him loss of appetite. This week, he has been going to the nurses office after lunch complaining of a headache, and he has not eaten lunch. This makes me furious becuase I know I make him lunch every morning, and it makes me confused because he lied about not having any food. He already is a picky eater- does not like veggies, or chicken. I have a hard time feeding him. He loves any pasta, mac & cheese, Alfredo sauce, grilled cheese, and burgers, and certain kinds of chicken nuggets. I don't understand what compels him to tell the school that he has no food for lunch. The school calls my husband & I to question us. Why is he doing this?

I am baking a pie right now, and the instructions say to cook for about 40 min... but our oven is not very reliable, and things usually cook faster than in a normal oven. How do I know when a Apple Pie (no lattice, just a top pie crust) is done?

They sue the tobbacco companies, and tell them they can't advertise anymore, when alcohol is more harmful for you than cigs, and alcohol is advertised all over the place! Shouldn't somebody sue the alcohol companies and make them stop advertising!?

I went to Cd. Juarez and bought cookware (cast iron skillet etc.) including one of those two-handled copper pots that are often used to cook carnitas. It's not a steel-lined copper pot or anything, it's just a two-handled copper pot.
I've seen these unlined two-handled copper pots used to actually cook with (in a restaurant in California that sold carnitas by the literal ton, every weekend). I think this one is really meant for cooking -- Although the place I bought it had some tourist junk, it also had stuff that was pretty clearly made for real kitchen use (like the cast-iron skillets and Dutch ovens they were selling). So I think this pot is really made to be used as a cooking implement. But the question is, can I just wash it and use it? Or does it somehow have to be prepared first (like, you know, a cast-iron skillet must be prepared properly before you can actually cook with it.) Anybody know?
