I am making a recipe that calls for one tablespoon "Cajun seasoning". There is nothing in my grocery’s spice aisle that is specifically called that. What is it?

Look for a green container -- it says Tony's on it. It is a mixture of spices -- it is great.

2 T. garlic powder
2 T. ground red pepper (cayenne)
2 T. black pepper
2 T. dried sweet basil leaves
2 T. salt
1 T. dried oregano leaves
1 T. ground white pepper
1 T. onion powder

That's what I use when I run out and can't find Tone's spices. It's even better than store bought Cajun.

If you can find it at the store "Slap Ya Mama" is my fav Cajun seasoning. It has a blend of salt, red pepper, black pepper, and garlic. Its good on just about anything.
