Is a grill cheese sandwhich just the same as a toasted cheese sanwhich?? or is there a difference??

For eg: just make a sandwhich with cheese in the middle and then toast it?

Sounds silly but i just want to know if theres any difference between the two...where i come from grilled cheese sandwhiches arnt eaten much...i also heard dipping it in tomato soup is nice...(so do u just dip bits of your toasted cheese sandwhich in the soup??) haha...this is new to me...haha but it sounds good so i'd like to know!
