most people just like it as calamari -- you have to get the oil super hot and drop it in and pull it out fast -- just enough time to brown the breading --

1 pound whole squid, cleaned
1 cup milk
1 large egg
Oil for frying
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons paprika
Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
Favorite marinara sauce for dipping
Aoili (its homemade mayo) for dipping you can be lazy and just add some lemon juice to helmanns

mix the milk and egg and keep it cold. cut up the squid in rings and put it in the milk and egg and put it back in the fridge. heat enough oil to fry in the bottom of a pot to medium high. mix the flour and paprika. when you are ready take the stuff out of the fridge and dip it in the flour mixture and drop it in the hot oil. it should brown in under 2 mins or its not hot enough. you want light brown not dark brown like onion rings from BK.

I had squid once and love it. I also dissected one at one time in science. Back to you question. Clean it, season and flour it and deep fry it. Put some ketchup if you like ketchup and enjoyed.
