Our family loves hard boiled eggs and deviled eggs but always have the hardest time peeling the shells and keeping the egg white intact. Any magic solutions, hints or tips?

Don't use fresh from the store eggs. Wait a couple of days. After boiling, I put in an ice bath. This keeps the yolks from turning green and also softens up the shell nicely. I softly tap and place under running water. The shell will peel right off!

put cold eggs in pan, cover with cold water so the eggs and water heat up at the same time, add a pinch of salt and a bit of oil or butter, boil eggs for 10 to 11 minutes, remove from heat, drain boiling water, cover in ice till completely cooled, crack egg, roll till egg shell is all cracked, easy to peel if your hands and the egg are both wet and you must also get the thin membrane like skin between the shell and egg...sounds like a lot of work for an egg, but it is worth it when your deviled eggs look perfect

My mom uses hard boiled eggs for potato salad and most of my family loves devil eggs. And being as though, I help out with peeling the shell off the egg. What you do is boil the eggs in water. After that, if you don't want to burn you fingers, run it through cold water. Then, hit the egg on the edge of you counter or table til the shell in cracked. Peel very carefully. That's it.

I normally run cold water under it for a while, then crack it a little bit, and peel from the skin instead of from the shell. It's not skin but I don't know the name of it. It's the stuff under the shell that seems like some kind of egg skin.

Really fresh eggs are always very hard to peel. So don't boil them for a few days after you buy them. I tap the shell gently on the counter or edge of the sink and peel under a little running water. It's better to try to peel them after they have cooled off.

After you boil your eggs run them under cold waterthen crack the bigger end of the egg. peel a couple of pieces of shell off look and see if you have pulled that litle thin piece of white membrane between the whites and the shell off if you can find that and peel that off with the shell it makes them so much easier to peel.

A spoon works best for me. Crack the shell, and then gently slide the spoon between the egg and the shell, and it should come off quite easily.

When eggs are freshly boiled and still warm, crack shells top and bottom and cool in running cold water. Shelling will be easy! Also only use fresh eggs, not ones that have been sat in the fridge for a week!
