My cousin is getting married next month, it is nothing big, she became pregnant and wnats to do it before she gets too big. She had told me that the colors for the wedding were red, black and white. So I already bought my husband a black dress shirt and red tie, and I bought my daughter a really pretty red black and white dress, she will be the flower girl. She called to tell me that my husband can not wear that b/c she wants half the ppl wearing a white shirt and half wearing a red shirt. She wants to pick out my outfit...although I am only attending I'm not even a bridesmaid, and she wants a different dress for my daughter. I'm a little upset about it because she had said before just anything with those three colors would be fine, and now that I bought two of the outfits she wants something else. Should she really be in charge of what we wear? Should I just shut up and go along with it or show up in what I want, granted I still be wearing the three colors she wants?

Wedding planning can be stressful, and at the least is full of a lot of details unless you're having a very simple affair.

What did you forget while you were busy planning, if you did it yourself? I cannot afford a coordinator, so I'll doing it all on my own. (By on my own, I mean, with my fiance, my mother, his mother, and my aunt.) Was it detrimental that you forgot it? Do you wish you had remembered?

Were there things outside of the wedding that you forget to do (like find a place to live) ? How did life outside the wedding stay organized?

Shew..Okay here it goes.

My wedding was planned for Nov. 2008
now, because of reasons such as: illnesses and wanting certain family members to be there (great grandmothers)
Our families are encouraging us to bump up the wedding to this April!!!! This means i would have 4 MONTHS to pull everything together!

Which means starting from scratch with the colors, food, dresses, EVERYTHING!!!

I just want to know, is it possible to do this?? If so, how should i go about getting everything together in such a quick time!?!?!?!?

We just received some silver rim porcelan dinnerware.
It says on the dinnerware, and on the box, you can put this in the dishwasher, but will the silver part come off?

Why rush off to the county clerk's office to get married (in the U.S.) only to turn around and either 1) lie to friends and family about being married or 2) further deceive everyone by putting on a fake ceremony later. That's a pretty big lie to have to cover up for free people living in the U.S. And how unAmerican is that for miliary to do that?

I'm planning a beach wedding, its going to be pretty casual and for that reason I was thinking of getting a t-length gown. I found one I really like, but now I am concerned with the bridal party's dresses. I'm not choosing a dress for them, they are all different shapes and sizes and I want everyone to be comfortable - so I'm simply picking a color and telling them to pick a dress. Do you think I should specify long or short depending on the length of my gown? And do you think all maids should wear the same length?

I don't know if I am suppose to have one? What would I put on it? Do I just put it on regular paper, stationary paper, or card stock? Does anyone have any links or templates that they would like to share?

I know these are steeped in tradition. But is it okay to omit it? I personally don't like either one of these things, and as my reception is in a restaurant and is banquet style, there isn't much room to do this stuff anyway. What do you think?

who came up with that idea and when.

The groom is arriving the morning of the wedding (he is military and out of state) so will not be at rehersal (church) the night before. We have decided to have a rehersal anyway because the bride wants to make sure all goes smooth. The bridal party mentioned they would like to have a rehersal dinner, but I feel it would be uncomfortable for my daughter (the bride), she already is doing the rehersal without the groom. Also, the grooms parents have not offered to pay anything and my husband and I are about tapped out after paying for the wedding. I was thinking about just ordering pizza at my house for after the rehersal, any ideas on what I should do or could do? thanks all.

or anyone else at my daughters upcoming wedding in Jamaica? The ministers fee is included in the package, but we have no idea how much they're paying him. Also, do you tip the photographer?
Thanks

My brother Sam brought his college friend Mike around to meet his old friends from high school about two summers ago. Sam introduced Mike to his old friend Jenny & joked they would make a great couple. They got along well and started dating. Jenny's & Sam's mutual high school friend Tina had a Christmas party last year that the whole group went to. There was a huge fight between Sam and Tina, basically Tina being jealous that Sam is a popular kid and well-liked. No one really talked to Tina even tho it was her party, that kind of thing. Anyway, Tina doesn't really talk to anyone anymore except Jenny. Jenny and Mike got engaged and are getting married this summer. Sam is really upset because he's not invited to their wedding. Jenny and Mike don't talk to him anymore, but hang out with Tina all the time. (Jenny said she feels "bad" for Tina. Mike doesn't even talk to Sam at all, Jenny won't let him.) Is it right that Sam, who introduced them, is not invited? How can I comfort my bro?

She goes to church and believes in God, and he is an Aethist.

We can get them an Italian set here in Germany, and it´s beautiful.

Even though my fiance and I don't plan on getting married until I graduate college in 2010, I've still been really thinking about the whole bachelor party thing and him having a stripper there. I really don't know how to feel about it. I don't like the idea of some naked woman shakin her sh^t all up in front of him, and I don't really want him to touch her or vice versa. Idk...what are your opinions on this? I want to be okay with it, but I just can't seem to bring myself to do so...

In a marriage ceremony, is the woman on the right, or the left?
Standing at the... altar thingy... lol.
Thanks!

Okay, here we go. I am military and my wife and I got married before I left for the middle east. We did not tell her family. We planned on having a wedding on our 2 year anniversary and told them the date. Now we are not going to have the wedding (alot of planning for 2 people and want to save the money) and are wondering how we are going to tell them. We were thinking of making it a small joke or something. We just saw the movie "This Christmas" and was going to say something like surprise. Kinda as a joke. Still not too sure how we are going to do it and not have them too mad at us. HELP me out.

I am about to order an engagement ring for my girlfriend. I have the diamond and the setting all picked out, and the place will mount the diamond before they send it. However, I plan to have the stone appraised once I get it to make sure it matches to its certification. Will the stone being mounted be a problem for the appraiser? Should I tell them to send the two seperate and have them put together after the appraisal?
