Ideas on how to minimise the costs for a wedding are desperately needed!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Bridesmaids & Groomsmen are paying for their own gear & we're in a public park but we need to lower costs further!
Thanks guys :)

So ever since I was a small child I have always dreamed about my perfect wedding. Big church, glamorous dresses, fantastic desserts, beautiful cake....but nowadays weddings are all based on relgion. And I am not a religious person...at all. I am more of an "energy" and "spiritual" type person....now my boyfriends parents are Christians..so my question is how would I incorporate a non-religious wedding so I dont offend my future in-laws??

I was thinking getting married in Vegas and coming back and having a big reception...??
Whats your dream wedding? Colors? Themes? Specialites?

my sister seems to think that I have not thought about what comes along with getting married. There is a part of me that thinks she is jealous because she is 40 and unmarried.

My wife to be and myself are arguing over whether to put the dress code on our wedding invites. I am wearing a tuxedo as is my best man, father and father in law and want everybody else to wear black tie and evening wear however my fiance doesnt want to put this on the invitations. What does everybody else think? I just dont want half the people turning up in jeans and shirts (smart casual) and half the people turning up in evening. HELP.

My girlfriend's parents like me as far as I know. My girlfriend and I have known each other for almost 7 years and have been on and off. We are both ready to marry each other and I am not particularly close to her parents. I would feel weird asking them since we don't have that kind of relationship. The most we talk is a "Hi, how are you doing?" When I see them, which is not very often as of now. I know she wants me to ask them, but I feel like It's just asking too much from me. It may sound rude, but it is ultimately her decision, even though I care what her parents think of me. I don't know how this would affect the engagement process either. I'm confused.

I want people to tell me stuff like, the traditions they followed, the theme color they used, who were the bridesmaides, man of honor flower girl, ringbeare, and things like that, where they close family friends....where were you married who walked the wife down the aisle, where was your honemoon, and what did you do for bacholors party and bridal shower...anything you want to tell is fine, do you have pics of it somewhere on the internet(Myspace, yahoo360...ect.)

was it scary...did you cry, did something embarres you or gowrong, and are you still married to that same person.

A friend invited me to her wedding but I declined the invitation. I'd still like to give her a gift, and I was thinking cash or a gift card... How much $$ is appropriate? Both her and I are in our early 20s and are students.

I'm asking this b/c on my family's side, esp. my mom, they're religious and very conservative, which is typical in Filipino culture. But I'm wondering if it's going to be a fuss if I wanna get married in places like the beach or a courtroom but not a church. Does Catholicism "state" I have to wed in a church? A couple of my friends say that I DO have to get married there, and when I checked on Wikipedia, all I saw is a Christian wedding article w/ no Catholic topic in particular... Please help I'm confused =(.

up to a counter to get the food, or do you have it served to them?
We are having a small outdoor wedding in a pavilion with family only in May. I am making Italian beef for sandwiches in crock pots, plus other side dishes. We are using pretty paper plates.

the rehearsal dinner. They expect me and my mom to pay for everything else. I can't afford it whatsoever. I'm struggling with paying for my bride's maids dresses or helping them pay for them. I think if they want to be "traditional" in that way, they should go by the books and pay for everything else...OR help with whatever they can. Any advice? or suggestions?!
