Check your phone book listings -- look for restaurants that offer wedding locations and receptions -- when I got married that is what I did. We got married outside at the gazebo -- it had chairs and an isle -- then we went inside to a banquet room and they catered it too -- total cost was about 4,000 for 100 people...but included everything except alcohol. Good luck -- if in southern cali let me know I know of lots of places...lol

You just need to find a place that works. A hall, a club etc. There are many places that specialize in this. You can have a very nice set up with the ceremony and the reception in one place and just think no one has to wait around for hours and find the new location. You may even be able to do the photo there as well, especially if there is a garden. Congrats!

I just had the reception start about two or three hours after the ceremony. I put the time for each on the invitation.

My wife and I had an outdoor wedding at a resort and country club. We had our reception (at the same place) which was catered by the resort, outdoors as well, next to the swimming pool. The resort also had a bar that they set up for us by the pool for the reception. Amazingly, no one got thrown in the pool. The resort also had awesome landscaping plus a large gazebo, so we were able to do our wedding photos there as well. The resort also had a honeymoon suite where we spent our wedding night, and hotel rooms as well, which made it really convenient for our out of town guests.

Do as my niece did. Hire a cruise ship (small one) get married on board by the captain of the ship, or have a Minister on board to perform the ceremony. The reception and dinner is all held on the ship. It was beautiful!

Step one: perform service at specific place
Step two: when service is over, send wedding party out for pictures..even if it is one block away
Step three: convert "service area" into dinning area. Have able bodies near by to set tables in chairs up
Step four: It's not rocket science.
