up to a counter to get the food, or do you have it served to them?
We are having a small outdoor wedding in a pavilion with family only in May. I am making Italian beef for sandwiches in crock pots, plus other side dishes. We are using pretty paper plates.

I have been to large and small weddings where they've served the food "buffet style" and I see nothing wrong with your plan. You could probably set up a nice table with all of the fixings and sides and have everyone make their own.

If you have the food served to them, you'll have to hire someone to do it, which will mean spending more money (plus tip!), or have one of your relatives or friends serve the food, and then they won't be able to enjoy the festivities!

Good luck! and Congratulations!

I think a buffet style table would work very well in that case. You know get some long tables throw a pretty table scape together IE: flowers table cloth ribbons flowers... Set the food out along the table and plates utensils on one end.. everyone severs them self

I think it really depends on how your guests are. But from the sounds of it, it seems to be pretty laid back so I'd say it'd be fine to have them come up to a counter and get the food. Good luck!

i think a buffet would be appropriate, or you could get a dish of each food for every table (divided from your main cooking bowl) to pass along the table. or pick one person to be the head of each tabel, to do the serving for that table. at least those ideas sound good to me, but if you'd like a buffet counter, that would be prefectly fine too! congrats!

I would say that it's better in your case to have a buffet table. This way, you don't waste food by serving people things they may not eat. They get what they want and how much they want.

It sounds like a good way to have a buffet/potluck type set up. That is fine, and sounds like fun. The food sounds yummy too! Congrats! Enjoy! Have fun! Take care.

Let the guests serve themselves. It sounds like a great wedding and reception.

It just depends on what type of atmosphere you want to create. If you want it to feel a little more formal, have them served. If you want more casual, have a buffet line.

You can never really go wrong with a buffet style layout.
