I want the be the best Maid of Honor for my sister. I know my basic responsibilites, but what are some great ways to make her feel even more special? I want to take this responsibility to the extreme, and even go farther. Any ideas?

I'm looking for a TOTALLY different surprise (not just a lovely surprise meal, candles etc - nothing so cliché) for my boyfriend - he's spending the next week with me...what can I do that'll make him think, 'I'm gonna marry her!' (we are getting married but you know what I mean, the proud type of thing =)

I just wanna let him know how much I love him! And how great he is.

Just for fun- I have been asking a lot of wedding questions and I get the weridest answers sometimes. I mention that my receiption is costing $70 a head and people wrote crazy stuff that thats was soo much and so extremely high which I thought was funny cause unless I got married in my back yard- we couldn't do it any cheaper with a cater. Might be because I live in NJ and it's more expensive the per say the midwest? What is your wedding going to be like or was... and how much is it costing you?
The cater, hall and dj is costing us little over $9,000 but if I included the whole budget (dress, gifts, shoes pictures, hotel room, hooneymoon) i's about $20,000. (we are paying for the whole thing) and it's for 150 people.

My boyfriend has been hinting around about a ring. He doesn't have one yet, but he has been asking me what type of style I like.

He really doesn't know anything about diamonds or jewlery and most importantly has no idea how much diamond engagement rings go for.

I have fairly expensive taste in almost everything, most of the time without even realizing it. I don't want him to feel overwelmed with the price, but I still would like to have something I really like.

I know that for a long time people would calculate this price based upon salary. What is the custom now?

I have been an AVID Steelers fan since I was in diapers and am planning a Steelers wedding for next summer. Since it's summer, I want the dresses yellow. Any ideas where I can find that shade of yellow for my maids' dresses? And please don't say David's Bridal. I've already checked there since that's where my dress is from. They only have one dress that just slightly matches. The wedding will be in the Atlanta area, so local resources would be great, too.

After telling my mom about my engagement she seemed happy and said that she would pay for most of my wedding. I found a venue that I loved but found that it was more expensive than I realised. My mom said it didn't matter, she would still pay for it. However, she suddenly changed when I told her more about how I wanted the wedding to be. I don't do "traditional" and wanted my wedding to reflect that. I wasn't sure what colour dress I wanted but I knew I didn't want white/ivory. I then saw a beautiful red dress in a magazine and decided that was the colour I wanted. My mom went mad. I also mentioned that I wanted to get married in October cos thats when we met. But my birthday is 30/09 so the begining would be too close so I chose the end. I made the mistake of joking that it would be close to Halloween, but it wasn't planned that way. Now my mum has refused to pay for the wedding unless I change my mind about the date and the dress colour. Is my mum right to do this?

my husband and I became engaged four years ago and were married three years ago. After we were engaged, I wanted an engagement ring, but he didn't want to get me one because he said that he had had some "bad experiences in the past" and he finally gave in but said that he wouldn't spend any more than $50 on a piece of jewelry because he thought that it was dumb and a waste of money. So, I purchased a very cheap ring (worth about $150), which I paid for. I can no longer wear the ring as the band is nickel and whenever I wear it, my finger gets infected. I was hoping that he would surprise me and give me an engagement ring and/or a wedding ring when our daughter was born last November, but I didn't receive anything at all. I really want a wedding ring and an engagement ring, but, I don't see him buying me any seeing as how we've been married for 3 years and I still don't have either. I'm tired of seeing my friends show off their beautiful new engagement rings. What should I do?

im trying to set up my head table for my wedding but i dont know the order for the wedding party. i know obviously that the bride and groom are in the middle, but where does everyone else sit.

My cousin and I have been friends all our lives and we used to be able to talk about anything. Now there is something I can't talk to her about and that is the guy she is planning to marry. She has known him for eight years and our family (myself included) think he is a self-centered butthead. At family gatherings he drinks and talks about himself and asks rude questions. She has worked so hard the last 4 years going to college and now she's going to get tied down with him while he goes through law school. I think she's making a huge mistake, but I know she loves him and I don't want her to think I don't support her.Our Grandmother isn't happy about the match either and I think she's waiting for me to talk with her. I'm in the bridal party so I've kept my mouth shut, but I wish I could find a way to talk to her that doesn't make her feel bad. Does such a way exist?

One of my best friends who is going to be a bride's maid in my upcoming wedding got drunk the other night and told me that she thought me fiancee was really hot and that she would "do him" if we weren't getting married. I'm really upset by this. Do I have the right to be so angry at her? --She also told one of our other friends that I looked like I have fetal alcohol syndrome. What should I do?
