My cousin and I have been friends all our lives and we used to be able to talk about anything. Now there is something I can't talk to her about and that is the guy she is planning to marry. She has known him for eight years and our family (myself included) think he is a self-centered butthead. At family gatherings he drinks and talks about himself and asks rude questions. She has worked so hard the last 4 years going to college and now she's going to get tied down with him while he goes through law school. I think she's making a huge mistake, but I know she loves him and I don't want her to think I don't support her.Our Grandmother isn't happy about the match either and I think she's waiting for me to talk with her. I'm in the bridal party so I've kept my mouth shut, but I wish I could find a way to talk to her that doesn't make her feel bad. Does such a way exist?

Oh dear. I've had this philosophical discussion many times with my friends and we've decided this:

If the bride has not solicited your opinion before the engagement, it isn't yours to give now. In fact, by agreeding to be her bridesmaid, you've already pledged your support of the union. To tell her now is a little late to criticize, especially when you know she loves him and it's what she wants. If you tell her you guys aren't crazy about it, they will still get married, but they will distance themselves from you. She will never forget that your guys don't like him.

The exception to this rule would be if you knew for a fact he was a bad guy- committed crimes, lie, stole, slept with you, hit her, etc. If his worst offense is that he's a butthead, sorry. He is her prince charming, and she didn't ask what you think.

Here's hoping he'll mature like a fine wine, and get better with age.

She has long previous too some distance and that's time she receives what's coming to her and Adrianna shifting away rather isnt punishment sufficient for her! possibly whilst David is outlined to be the actual inheritor she can lose BE and David gets each and every thing after which close her out the way she double crossed him the different day!

Well, your cousin is a grown woman. She had made a choice to tie the knot with a man whom she dated for 8 years. She must have a think it through before making such a gaint step. I were you I would not offer your opinion unless she asked you for it.

Dear,
It is not a tragedy at all !
Love is blind. And mates look for complementary traits in their partners. Marriage has a huge rub off effect on each other (if long lasting, they become mirrors of each other).
Unless he is known criminal/poor integrity etc, just wish them luck !
