I was reading a magazine artical that "Most" people that happen to run into their first loves later in life actually stiil see them the same way as when they last met, Example: like if a guy loved you in high school and you met up a grocery store 15 yrs later that in his mind he doesn't notice that you may be overweight, or wrinkled. Or a woman may not notice that he is balding and worn looking. They say it only refers to people that were in love, not just casual aquaintances is that true for you?

my husband has beed divorced for 5yrs and his exwife never lived at this address,she does not even live in the same town as us.about 4 or 5 times a month we get her mail(mostly junk mail) but why?my worry is my husband in his haste to get away from his crazy ex "overlooked/forgot something" like take her name of something of his.or worse yet she has his name on something of hers.is there anyway we can find out why we keep getting her mail?shes very nasty so asking her is out we would not get a truthful anwser.also my husband still gets mail once in a while addressed to him and her together.why after 5yrs is this still happening?i know this is a minor thing but i'm just fearful there maybe a bigger problem we dont know about

For my girlfriends recent birthday I bought her a digital camera and also gave her £75 worth of vouchers for next. She is still paying of student debts and is always moaning how she wants to buy clothes instead of paying her fees. When we go out she looks at lovely things but will not let me buy them for her (she's excellent in that way) so I thought buying vouchers for her birthday would allow her to buy some nice things. However, she has just informed me that she will be buying things to go to work in. To say the least i'm not best pleased as I explained that she has to buy things to go to work in, the vouchers were meant as a treat to buy things that she really wanted for her. Am I in the wrong to say that the intention was for her to buy nice things for when she / we go out, not for when she goes to work ?

I suppose I will be expected to get excited when she shows me a nice pair of black trousers that she has bought - well I wont be.

Any advice ???

My BF split up with me and really hurts me last Holidays, so awful that he even introduce her to me at the Xmas party and invited themselves at my sisters New yrs eve party, now after the holidays, he called (Jan.8) asking how am i doin, then later on split up with the GF then wants to come back with me, i DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO.

They are going to a resort for 15 year. I do not want to go and am going to stay home and take care of our 3 kids. She wanted me to go but I really do not want to and have things going on at work that week. It is only 2 days and 1 night. For years we have both had fantasys about this typ of thing during sex. Now that she is 33 and done having kids she is ready to try. It does turn me on but I am not sure about going though with it. Any advice on this subject?

Ok I was talking with a girl last night. She has been my friend since forever not gf. The other night I was walking home from work (I always do), I work in the downtown near a university and on my way home two different groups of women avoided me as much as to walk to the other side of a three lane street then back again as soon as they passed me in both cases although I passed both of them separately two blocks from each other. I don't believe that I look that scary and I was wearing good slacks, black boots, a nice shirt, a blue nike hat and some headphones for my mp3. I was watching my feet because it was cold and I was using my shirt to protect my face against the cold. I am 6 ft and rather strongly built which is why they would be afraid. I thought that girls should be able to defend themselves and she says that they shouldn't have to worry about rape. Secondly, I don't ike being treated like a monster because I am built bigger. It is not my fault that I am bigger. Who is righter?

I'm 22 never married, still at home and come from Italian-Irish Descent. He's 36 divorced with 1 son (visits) lives on his own, from English decent. We've been together for 10 months and we are so in love with eachother. My parents "don't have a problem with him, but he's not for you for long term." His parents " treasure her, she's the one for you." We're in no rush for any long term plans but we both know we've never really experienced love until now and we both feel that this is so right. I know by living under my parents roof, I have to respect their wishes, but I can't give him up and running off with him is not an option. How can I get them to see how good he is for me. My parents should understand: dad was married before to a widow (18 years difference) . mom was with her divorced uni professor (13 years difference) who had 2 kids. How can they judge when they have been in the same situation before? What should I do?

I work fulltime/5 days a week. By the time I get home its about 5 and my boyfriend has to be at work by 6:30. We don't see eachother that much and I have our children everyday. We only have one vehicle and he takes it to work during the nights, which leaves us stuck at home most times.....
He took off 1 day to spend time with us...except we get home, have dinner and then he leaves for 3 hours, when he gets home, I am already putting the kids to bed and then I have to go to bed soon to get up for work the next day.
Is it wrong for me to be mad about it? If I took off a day of work and didn't spend some of it with him, he would flip out. Should I apologize or wait for him to realize what a stupid thing he did, and apologize to me?

I am 19 and my boyfriend is 24 he is a college graduate and is about to get a masters degree, i dropped out of college and i am at a ballet conservatory, i am following my dreams to do what i have always wanted to do, dance. however our relation ship has been a problem for a while. we love eachother so much and when we are together we have good times. but because of my school and our schedules we cannot see eachother, sometimes for 2 weeks at a time, and when i leave my school i will be dancing and the same thing is going to happen but he can not handle this and wants me to give up dance, to be with him, i would love to do it but i will not be happy with my own life. i dont know what to do.....

Ok here's the deal. My girlfriend of one year recently told me that she is going to move out by herself for a while because she "needs time away from me" (I smoked pot one night after promising her I wouldn't so she is pretty pissed about that etc). She said she is so mad at me right now that she might start hating me and she doesn't want that. She thinks that moving out will help her get over me lying to her and then she can love me again. I have accepted my fate (I am actually assuming that she is breaking up with me for good and wants to let me down softly) and since I only have a few more days left with her, I have been in good spirits, rather than crying 24/7 and being all depressed (plenty of time for that later on). We last night she got all upset and said "You seem to be handling this really well. You don't even seem upset. I never told you I wanted to break up. I just said I wanted time apart for a while." Honestly, what do you think this girl wants!?!?! :) Thanks.

I think I am a bad-looking guy (Ugly Boy). So my boyfriend of over a year used to be a pothead when he was younger but quit - however he still likes to have a toke when we're around his friends who still do it. Which is all of them - and makes it all the more difficult for us not to be around it. He doesn't purchase it, or necessarily desire it .. he does it socially whenever it is around. I'm having a difficult time accepting this as I'm opposed to smoking. We've talked it over many times ... I have asked him not to do it around me because I do not like it but he feels I'm taking away a right he should have. Sometimes he'll go months without doing it - other times he'll do it once a week - usually never more than that. Its dependent on who we see when we go out. Its made me not interested in going out anymore because I don't want to see him smoking.

So I'm not looking for responses like "dump him" - I'm looking for an open-minded response - one that may help me learn to accept our differences.
