Ok here's the deal. My girlfriend of one year recently told me that she is going to move out by herself for a while because she "needs time away from me" (I smoked pot one night after promising her I wouldn't so she is pretty pissed about that etc). She said she is so mad at me right now that she might start hating me and she doesn't want that. She thinks that moving out will help her get over me lying to her and then she can love me again. I have accepted my fate (I am actually assuming that she is breaking up with me for good and wants to let me down softly) and since I only have a few more days left with her, I have been in good spirits, rather than crying 24/7 and being all depressed (plenty of time for that later on). We last night she got all upset and said "You seem to be handling this really well. You don't even seem upset. I never told you I wanted to break up. I just said I wanted time apart for a while." Honestly, what do you think this girl wants!?!?! :) Thanks.

Well she never actually said she wanted to break up so she's probably just upset that you seem to be taking her leaving so well. Most girls would expect a guy to get all upset and beg them to stay or try and work things out. She may just want you to make a big fuss over her so shell know you care. By breaking your promise to her earlier, you have messed up her trust in you and she may have doubts to whether or not you really care about her or not. So you have to prove to her that you really do care about her and gain her trust back. Did you tell her that you didn't want her to go? she may be expecting you to argue against her leaving or something. The best thing for you to do is sit down and talk to her about her leaving and how you feel about that; whether you want her to go or not or that you want her to do what she feels is best.
