I still look at my first love the same all these years later. 17 years later that is.The admiration I had for him was still there. He still looked cute as ever.Still young.
Unfortunately he didn't recognize me.Boy was that a slap in the face.

Absolutely not.
Quite by accident, I ran into my first lover at Hallowe'entown Disneyland not all that long ago, and he looked AWFUL. He'd gained all sorts of weight, was balding, had a nagging wife (a blue-eyed baby-faced blonde who resembled me more than a little) and two little kids whining "Daddee Daddee I waaaaaaaaaaaaaant that, and that, and THAT!"
Meanwhile, I had my slim, handsome husband on my arm. We were well-dressed, well-rested, and playfully flirting with each other. Ex-BF had to come up to me and say hello, and I introduced him to my husband. I could see the appraisal, competition, and envy going on in Ex's eyes. My husband is only two years younger than Ex, but it looked more like ten.
Plus, same goes for the guy I was dating before I met DH. WOW, has he let himself go too! He quit smoking for five years while he was with me because I wouldn't marry a smoker, and now he's back puffing like a chimney again, as though he's trying to make up for all the cigarettes he couldn't smoke while he was dating me. Now he REEKS, and his breath is just foul. If he was the last man on earth, I'd convert to lesbianism.
So no, I've never met an ex who was a patch on my husband. All running into exes does is reinforce my belief that I chose the right man!

That's really interesting thanks for sharing that. I am not sure though, even though I was in love with him. I am sure I would notice if he was over weight balding or how much Grey he would have even to the lines on his face. I am a pretty detailed person so I do pay attention and notice ...Plus I am a licensed cosmetologist so again I am used to detail,,,,,

Yes, my first true love I ran into him a couple of months back and I saw him just the way I last remembered and a lot of old memories came ruining back... Good and bad ones but I knew what we had and it was nice thinking back and really appreciating what I had.... It's true for me...

i guess it is ture, after all you can never forget your first love and seeing them years later makes no difference because how you look don't matter at that time it's just talk about catching up on all the years you miss that makes u fail to notice the looks

I think that you would see the changes. How could you not notice the hands of time. We are all getting older one day at a time.

Love changes as we get to know someone. At first we are infatuated and so in love...then it progresses into a deeper...I know you already kind of love. We are in love with love them, and still love them, but the initial attraction may lesson. Physical attraction, lust, is often mistaken for love. I still love my husband just as much and would die if anything happened to him.

No, they change just like you change and when see them sometimes you'll still get that strange feeling in your throat of love and then sometimes you'll wonder, "What in the world did I ever see in them".

I would have to say no. So much changes through the years, it would hard to freeze time and have it the same.
