Marriage & Divorce - 23 June 2006

I've been married for more than 20 years. I met my husband when I was 16 and married him at 18. Most of those years were good ones, but for the past 5 or 6 years I feel like I've been the glue to this marriage. Recently, he left me for another woman, was away for about 3 months, but wen ended back together, with a struggle. He's an alcoholic. I still love him, but not the same anymore. In the past, he's had a roving eye. He even lost a job because of this roving eye once. I forgave him in the past, including this time, but the difference this time is that I am not the same person anymore, and I met someone that now treats me like a queen. Unfortunately, this person turned out to be a family member of his. We have fallen in love and he wants a future with me as do I. I still love my husband and would want to work it out with him, but I don't trust him anymore. He's now behaving and treating me somewhat decent, for now. Any suggestions? Anyone with a similar experience?

My wife came home from work and started flirting with me, realy tuning me on. All night. We put the kids to bed and then we went to bed. No more than 10 min. she slips under the sheets. Then she says "I have an infection" and I say, how did that happen within the past 5 min. She was pissed. WTF! if she knew she had an infection why get me all horned up for nothing. Am I being selfish?

She came home, sore after staying at her girlfiriends, she has stayed there before but not come home so sore. She hid the fact until the next day even though it was obvious something was wrong. There was no physical evidence, she said she went to the hospital and reported, but no papers, no documents. I seemed to want proof. The next week she had the pregnancy scare. This whole time is a living hell for me so I qeustion it happening and she becomes mad. I seemed to do more damage than the supposed rape. I never found out if it was actually true, no real details. She was at the bar with a friend, the friend left her at the bar so she got a ride with an old high school friend, he supposedly took a detour pulled over and raped her, she had no signs of a struggle, looked alright, all her long natural finger nails where there, was it true, does that sound true, am I a bad person for not believing or getting mad, why would she not tell me more, what should i have doen, I still want to know?

He´s always reproaching my past relationships, even though he´s no saint. He acts like I´m stupid and humiliates me in front of his family and in public. My wife has gained a lot of weight since we've married. I know having children didn't help, but I really wish she drop a few pounds and take care of herself.

Me and my gf have been together for quite a while now...and we have found to be completely in love with eachother...We argue sometimes and unlike other couples that break up every time something small happens or an argument, we always make up. Our sex life is great, we never get tired of eachother, and always have so much fun together, I have been accepted as her boyfriend by every single person in her family, and everything is just great. My boyfriend and I have only been dating 9 1/2 months, but we are living together and see each other everyday. We are very much in love, and very much a together-couple - we're still head over heels for one another! But I've recently come to a crossroads in my life and my career, and I may need to make some changes, possibly even geographic ones. If he has plans for us to marry someday, he doesn't say so... he refers to a future together, even a long-term one ("When we retire in 'x' years...") but he also says things like "If I get married..." or "When I get married..." never "we" and never anything that is specifically about us or refers to us. If I am to remain where I am, living in our apartment with him, I need to know if he sees a legitimate future together, with a wedding and children. I don't necessarily need a ring right now, but I would like to know if there will ever be a ring for me from him. Again - no rush - but he is significantly older, so I don't want to drag our feet either.

My question (apologies for the preamble): how do I broach the topic? Bear in mind, I'm not looking for a proposal, but I do need to know if he wants to get married and have children someday, because I definitely do and if he doesn't, then no matter how much we love each other, it would be a dealbreaker. I just need to know what he wants from life, and if there's a timeline, too. How do I ask?

My last question wasn't very detailed. Check this out, my wife wear lingerie for me, she talks dirty to me. She does not like change. I tried it, no slack. I tried everything. Candles, food, romance, singing to her (which was the closest I got), massaging, oils, change of position, pace. Dang near everything, but she is not changing the way she wants it, and it is boring me. Now maybe that was enough detail. Ladies help? What should I do?

the girl really cares for me but says that she doesnt have the same feelings. the main reason is that we are both from different family backgrounds and she is not confident about talking to her family about me. on my homefront, the signal is green all the way. she says that if she says yes now and then her family interferes, she wont be able to contradict them. i dont know if she's hiding anything from me.how do i bring about that confidence in her? and how do i bring about that feeling in her heart for me,- the way i feel about her??

My ex and I broke up three years ago. We've just been friends since then, but I'm pretty sure he still has feelings for me. We live in different countries, so we haven't seen each other since then (though we've been in somewhat sporadic contact), but we'll be living in the same town beginning next month.

I'd really like things to work out with him (by work out, I mean marriage), but I'm aware that they might not. I've changed a lot and maybe he has, too. So, I guess I just need some reassurance. Also, I think he's the sort of guy who won't bring it up unless I do. Is that a bad sign?

I have been with the same man for over 6 years - we are both in our mid-20s. I do not understand why we have to get married or have children. We are waiting until we are in our mid-30s to settle down and adopt when we hit our 40s. My BF and I have a great time traveling the world together and actually having great careers.

However, family and friends wants us to get married and have kids. Why the rush?

I have been with my GF for 7 years, we are still young i am 24 she is 25. I have been with other people while we were on a break and she says she hasn't (i know her well enough to know she is not lying). A month ago she told me she wanted to take a break from the relationship. She is in Med School and about take the boards(huge life changing test) she has not been intimate with me over the past few months..did i mention we have almost always been in a long distance relationship? But she never expressed any feelings like this EVER We have been through tough times before, cheating and feeling unsure and she said that she is willing to work things out, but not right now...everyone, including her is telling me not to put my life on hold. She isn't cheating, she still loves me but is says she is not in love right now and can't promise she will be, but wants us to be together. Whats her deal? I dont want to wait for her, but i may have to.
