Is it possible to make a husband like your family?

First of all...it's impossible to MAKE anyone do anything unless you are holding a gun to their head, and even that wouldn't work in this situation...the best thing to do is to not push it or argue over it. Just let it happen. If he is around them more over time he may grow to love them on his own, if not, then it doesn't really matter cause you love him and you love your family...that's all that matters in the end right?

Don't you know that a husband, by definition, already IS a part of the family? What do want him to do? Fill out an application? If you marry a man, it's complete, he's family. Otherwise, get a divorce.

I dont think that its possible to MAKE someone like anyone else, but what is possible is to make your husband realize that if he doesnt like your family, he puts you in a situation where you have to choose between him and your family and thats very unfair to you and selfish on his part.

You can't make anyone like someone they don't, but you can steer him in the right direction. First of all, never say anything bad about your family in front of him. Don't let him think they are bad in any way. Don't insult them or even express any irritation for anything they do. Only say good things about them in front of him. Second, if he ever says anything negative about one of them, stop him right away. Tell him that you don't want him speaking about your family that way, because you wouldn't say anything about his family like that. Third, don't drag him over there all the time for any boring thing. Be selective about which family events you bring him to, but make sure it is consistent. If he ever feels like he doesn't have to be there, he won't want to go there. Then start bringing him to more and more family functions until he starts to get used to having them around. He still may not like them, but at least he cannot say anything bad about them and he'll be used to seeing them regularly.

You can't make anyone like something. You could help him get used to your family, and who knows what'll happen. Good luck!

no. seriously you cant make anybody do anything. mine hates my family. the only thing you can ask is for a little bit of courtesy. ask him not to speak badly of them to you, ans to act civilly while they are around. this makes life easier.

You can't "make" him do anything he doesn't want. You can't change people. They have to change on their own. Maybe you can tell him positive things about your family. I have in-law problems myself so I know how difficult it is.

You already have him as family once you made those vows to forsake all others keeping yourself only to him. So that's your answer right there!

not really..I think that is something only they can do ...he has to decided or come to terms with whatever is going on between him and your family...

if you try to push your family on him...will only get worse.

time is all I know to help.
