Family - December 2007

Her mom is an abusive alcoholic. She wont do anything to fix it. She just begs me not to tell anyone. Her dad lives on the other side of the country. She doesn't want to tell him, because she doesn't want her dad to blame himself about all of this. Her house is hard to deal with. She doesn't eat sometimes because she is scared to go upstairs with her mom there. She can never be in the same room as her mom. It's scary, and I don't want to turn her in. She has begged me for years not to. She says since she only has two more years of school its no big deal. gah!

always around the holidays, you have different stressful situations that creep into families. I have one that I would like your opinion on. there are at least three people in my family that really can not afford to buy any gifts this Christmas for anyone. In my family, all but one REALLY understands the situation. How would you deal with a family that doesnt really want to understand the situation and thinks that you should at least try and get something? How would you go about telling this family member that you cant buy any gifts this Christmas for them or their children?

i am 15, and my boyfriend is 17, he is a laborour, so is verry strong. i was sitting in the kitchen at his mothers house (where he lives.) and me and his mother was saying how pretty i was, and that i must get hit on alot by older boys, because i look about 20 years old. then Jonah (my boyfriend) walked over to me and slaped me across the face with the back of his hand. His mother gasped then walked out of the room. she didnt even say anything! This is the first time that he has ever hit me, but i dont even no what it was about. can you please help me, how do i deal with this, and is it normal?

i have a huge welt on my cheek bone, and a horrible purple bruise.

I have a good Christian family, good neighboor hood, ect and most ppl think i'm living well off except for i'm not.
my dad used to be a drunk and went to jail for it, then he stopped and i just found out that he secretly started again, dad thinks mom is having affair but nobody knows for sure, parents r undecided about divorce and both ask me and my 6 year old sister if we want them to break up or not, we're broke and in HUGE debt and no money but parents spend ruthlessly, and it's AWFUL. we all try to cover it up from everybody but i always feel like my life is a big fat LIE which it kind of is. I really need something in my life thatll help me forget my problems like u know in books and movies how ppl sneak out of their houses and go make out with guys (ya i know i'm only 14) or a boyfriend or idk just something exciting that will make me actually look forward to life unlike how i get up every morning and wish i were dead. i kno, im desperate & its sad i hafta go online for this

im stationed in S.Korea, my girls in N. Carolina. i called her yesterday and asked her how her day went. she gives me the details and then mentions that this guy from work came over and spent the afternoon at our house with her...alone. then he leaves and two of her friends come over and eventually leave, and in the evening the guy comes back just to tell her goodnight and spends a few more hours with her...alone. i went off on her cause this isnt the first time this subject has been addressed with her. she says "im an adult and ill make adult decisions, im not going to do anything wrong, dont you trust me?"......ok...i replied with, "yes, i trust that you wont do anything wrong, but what you have to think about is not just, "i know im not going to do anything so its cool," but also you have to think about how having a guy alone at our house throughout the afternoon and again in the evening is disrespecting/disreguarding MY feelings. i also explained that, utlimatley (see below)

Im from Bolivia and i met a guy from australia 5 months ago, he came to live with me and my family during 2 months, during that time he didnt pay a penny for anything, was giving everything to him (food, electricity, a car, everything!). After those 2 months he leave, and i found out i was pregnant, he promise me marriage, that we will sort it out either me going to australia or he moving in my country. With the time was more and more difficult find him to talk about the situation and now im 4 months pregnant and desperate about what to do. Im planning to to australia, and give birth there, because everything is a mess in my country, I do think will be the best for the baby. My questions are.. If i can give birth there without having troubles because im planning to go with a tourist visa. And if i get some support from any institution in legal advice to get to my baby the last name of the father, and get with it Child support, because i will be single mother. please help.

No, live in Australia, get the citizenchip, is nothing that i have in mind, i just want to get what is fair for the baby, and after that come back to my country, the child has the right to decide in the future where to live or not. Based on that is why im need of help

My fiance (we've been together over 7 years) and I just moved into our first house this year and I was looking forward to having all the family over for the holidays... However, some things happened during the year that caused a lot of drama and heartache, and now my fiance doesn't want his parents or sister to come over for the holidays... In fact, he doesn't even want to see them for the holidays...

Some things that happened:
-we bought his mom & dad (expensive!!) wedding bands for their 25th anniversary, which they turned around a pawned just a few weeks later so they could buy cigarettes and crap that they wanted more i guess...
-my fiance's sister has started numerous fights with me... out of nowhere, she just gets in a bad mood and starts rehashing stuff from every other fight we've ever been in...
-my fiance's mother and my fiance's brother's wife got into some disagreements when they were living together and my fiance's sister-in-law claims that if they come over for

Well my sister amber has a boyfriend brandon and he lives with us right now. He never respects our house rules and is always yelling. Hes always saying mean stuff to me and my brother but i don't know what to do about it cause i don't want to make my sister upset. He thinks that he owns the house when hes a guested. my motherinlaw is is nuts. icant stan to be in the same room with hir. my wife just has been baddeling a adiction problom for the last year. Hir mother set up some therpie with a family freind and it din't work becose the freind told my wife she did not have a problome and she would bee all set. My wife had a relaps and i set hir thepay up with a addiction concelar. i kept the mother inlaw infomed on what i was doing and have never had a call fom hir to check up on hy wife. she dose call my wife from time to time onley when she need sumthing! and my wife will drop everything and go runing. doring the first 4 weeks of my wife most recent sobritey she did not call hir or I at all. I Wint to sit the mother inlaw down and talk to hir ablout how she is efficting her dauder but i cont know if this is A good idear looking for any advise??? Should I just stay out of it ??

My aunt & uncle are getting a divorce. My uncle is my moms brother. When my aunt moved out she was VERY rude and immature about it. Her and my cousins left all pictures and anything that was connected to my uncles side of the family. I am only 14 and knowing that she left things behind that I gave her/pictures etc. makes me feel angry and unwanted. As if she and my cousins don't love me anymore. I had some confidence and esteem issues before, but now I am hysterical. She is so caught up in her own little world she probably doesn't even know how much she is hurting me. How can I cope with this? And is it just me, or is it immature to do what she's doing?

I want to help so badly. My dad has been 9 hours away for the last 2 months and just as he finally decided he couldn't avoid putting my grandpa in a nursing home (and put him in hospice) and came home for a weekend visit- my grandpa dies. My dad isn't handling it and I need to do something.

I own my own home, but I have been considering selling my house and moving in with my mother. My father died a year ago and she doesn't get around all that great. I will pay all expenses on her house and I can do all the other things that need to be done. I make enough to live alone and feel I need to take care of my mother. I am going to make an inlaw apt. for myself.
What do you think of this?

I write a lot of personal things in my diary! I wrote about a guy I liked, who's in grade 11. I also wrote about the type of guys I like. Well, today, I was with my mom, my aunt and my cousin in the car, and my mom started saying, "I think she's in love, look at her. And I know the type of guys she likes, she doesn't like the type of guys like her brother's friends, I think she'd rather date someone more smart" I practically wrote the same thing in my diary! Then after that she told me that grade 11 isn't a big age gap for me. She also starting saying how personal I am, and told my aunt that I probably write about my crushes in my DIARY.

What do you think? Please don't give me a "how would we know" answer. Moms, do you think it's right to read through your daughter's journal?!

I don't have any favorites but I am closer to some more than others but I still don't favor them over another sibling. This just cause more problem in a family. My sister favor another sister over me. For example, some times my sister is wrong but she still defend her. How do I deal with such thing? I am not jealous but I just don't know why people do this because that just would mess up your relationship with other family members. What your opinion?

My father is 81 in a retirement home for about 4yrs now. He now can't get around on his own cause his legs are getting weak. We are planning to put him in a nursing home so that there will be someone to be able to watch him all the time. I wanted to know if he will be able to qualify for medicare and medicaid. I hate this world.
parents seem to find some way to take up teenager's time for everything. I go to school Mon-Fri for 8 hours a day, and now i have to go to sunday school. Plus I just got my Wii and only got to play once yesterday. Now my sister and my brother think it's theirs, so they play it more than i do (i don't mind them playing, but what about me?) it's so gay. who agrees with me?

Yesterday my feonce's mother was baby sitting my little sister and she gave my little sister a big huge smack on the butt with a belt, because she was climbing a tree, and my sister is only 7!!!!!! My sister started to scream and took the belt and smacked the my feonce's mother in the butt so she (the mother) would get out of the house and so she left the house and then my little sister locked all of the doors and called my mom to come pick her up! was that rude? was it illegal? my ex-husband is in critical condition and his minor children(ours) cannot see him because the current wife has put a passcode on any inquries about his condition.I was told even the children have to be given a passcode to inquire about their dad's condition. I do not have any of his family members #'s but they do have mine and none have called and he has been in the hospital for about 2 weeks, anyway, If he dies how would I go about finding out about his death?

she sent it to him for a Christmas gift! he hasn't spoken to her in about 3 years because he has no long distance..she does and has not called him. he has sent gifts to his grandson without even a thank you in return.
