I own my own home, but I have been considering selling my house and moving in with my mother. My father died a year ago and she doesn't get around all that great. I will pay all expenses on her house and I can do all the other things that need to be done. I make enough to live alone and feel I need to take care of my mother. I am going to make an inlaw apt. for myself.
What do you think of this?

I think it is a good idea so long as you both respect your space.I would hope my daughter would do the same for me.If she is happy with the idea go ahead.you only have one mother and time will pass fast, spend the time to really know her as a person, you might find your best friend there.

i think its wonderful that you are there to help your mother,,it could be a good thing for both of you especially if she has trouble getting aound and that u will be there to help...its far better than assistant living and she can still stay in her own home..make sure you both agree on this of course..

have you asked your mother what she wants?
because if she agrees to this there shouldnt really be a problem, but she might have other ideas....there are many alternates that should be considered and then the right choice can be made on what is best for her

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH TAKING CARE OF YOUR MOM,BUT WHY NOT TAKE HER TO YOUR HOME AND LET HER SALE OUT? SHE WILL HAVE NO WORRIES SINCE YOU WILL OWN EVERYTHING AND SHE CAN ENJOY THE MONEY SHE GETS OUT OF HER HOME.
