Your sister n law needs to go to the Child Support Enforcement of her state and start proceedings for child support.

Look at this web site...print it off and glean from the information that can help you. It will show your rights. Don't be concerned with who it is for just the good information. I like it cause of it's lay out and simple to understand.

She might consider cutting all ties with this man cause there is a good possibility there will be frustration, pain and hurt in the future. She can make it without him financially. TRUST ME I know from experience.

As the father of these twins, this man is responsible for supporting them regardless of not being married to their mother.
The way the court looks at things like this is always through the eyes of the children. This man fathered them and if taken to court, he would most likely be ordered to pay a set amount monthly for their care.
The court would never order the man's wife to pay this for him. It would solely be the fathers obligation. This doesn't mean his wife would not pay it to make things easier for him, but she would never be the one held responsible to pay it.
I would highly recommend the father of these little ones be named and taken to court for child support.

Yes, the wife can be made to pay the child support. If she is the bread winner and the husband is not it can happen.

since they are not her kids she does not have to legally pay the child support, but in order to keep her husband out of jail she probably would because you will get in a lot of trouble for not paying that.

No she won't have to pay! Could you imagine? If my husband screwed around and then I'd end up with his child support?
What if he committed a crime? They wouldn't send me to jail!

she does not have to pay. however since shes married to that dead beat she is also libel for his bills so if she puts her money into a joint account the state can take it out for child support because any money in a joint account is considered his money too.

NO, HE HAS TO PAY......IN THE END THE WIFE IS PAYING AS WELL ...IT'S COMING FROM THEIR HOUSEHOLD, IF THEY ARE STILL TOGETHER OR IT WILL BE A LACK OF RESOURCES FOR HER OWN CHILDREN.
