Family - February 2007

My brother has been married about 13 years now. We know my sister in laws family well, we all get together for occasions and such.
Since my mom has gotten sick though, we've been left out of things and treated like social pariahs.
Last night, we found out the our sister in law's sister is being thrown a baby shower next Saturday. My brother let this slip on the phone - we had no idea and we weren't invited.
My sister and I feel incredibly hurt that we weren't invited. Is it just us, or was it rude?

His excuse for stealing from us: I was doing drugs and made poor choices. He stole stuff from us as recent as a week ago. The total of the stolen items is almost $5,000. He pawned the stuff to buy drugs. He does not sound remorseful or sorry about what he has done. Says that if we get him out, he can pay to get our stuff out of the pawn shop. The police say we either have to pay the pawn shop back what they paid our son or take them to court to get the stuff back that hasn't been sold yet. He has been stealing our stuff for the last 2 months but doing it in a way that it wasn't noticeable till last week. When we realized our stuff had been stolen he told the police about anyone he thought may have stolen the stuff. I feel he should stay in jail and do time - maybe it would be the wakeup call he needs. My husband doesn't want us to be the ones to file the charges. Wants to get him out, let him steal from someone else - then let them file charges so we haven't put him away.

my friend along time ago he stole this necklace from his dad cus he wanted to wear it then today his friend came over and ask what happend to his old necklace and his dad is search all over the place for the necklace what shud my friend do? this necklace valuable nobody no about this beside him and his dad. his dad also no he shop lift before and stuff he can get deep trouble what shud he do quick!?

I'm 14, have a strong resentment towards my parents, because they were too harsh when I made some mistakes. It's been so for more than a year. They tried to make up, say today they are proud of me, but I kept my resentment. Can this change? Where can this situation lead us?

at this middle school dance this boy that i liked was there i had my friends to ask him to dance with me but he keep saying no so i kept trying but still no so i was mad and sad i wished someone could dance with me but no one did and when i left the building to get in the car i was sad and i started to cry because the boy that i liked wouldn't dance with me so..... how do i get him to notice me?

When my grandmother died I was only one year old. My mother always seemed to blame herself because she had a heart attack on the way home from visiting us. My mother thinks it was the trip. Well I dont have one memory of her but I aways imagined her playing with me during her stay at my house and I imagine her hugging me and kissing me and saying goodbye. Well when I was pregnant with my son I had a baby shower as every mother to be does. When I the baby shower was over I was at my house going over all the gifts I had received and came across a beautiful picture frame. The frame said "Heaven Sent" and had the artists signature at the bottom, Flavia. My grandmothers name. I couldnt for the life of me remember who gave it to me, so I always considered this a gift from my grandmother. Coinsidence?

This morning I was suppose to go to church but I woke up a little late. We have a hot water tank and I was afraid it was going to run out of water if I got in. So, I didn't go to church or take a shower. Now my mom's mad at me and won't leave me alone. I'm also grounded and can't go to the next or in the month's dance. She almost went and got the belt to spank me with. She won't leave me alone and is treating me like a criminal. Also, my brother started to cry and she thought I did something to him. She almost spanked me there too. I told her she's treating me like a criminal and she said I back talking her. My dad she thinks she overdoing it but she won't listen to him. Is all of this fair or not? How can I tell her if it's not because she won't listen to me either?

I just recently found out that my ex girlfriend is pregnant with another child her and I already have 2 beautiful girls 2gether 1yr and 3yrs old. We split up because she was too crazy for me. And we couldn't just get along. And she was getting pretty bad on some **** if u know what i mean. I still get to see my kids but for some reason when i found out this news it crushed me. The first thing that entered my mind was ooh my god now my kids are going to have half siblings. But then i don't know why i felt betrayed. Do i still care about this crazy woman ??? I am about to run away from home, once i get all of my money out of my bank and then get some more. Anyways, The reason i want to is because of my family. My mom is always studying for massage school, or working, or taking care of my g-pa. She always smokes and drinks, and she never wakes me up on time for school either! I tried to talk 2 her about 1000 times but she dosent listen! My dad is always working, or yeling at me for some dumb reason (they dont get why i get bad grades..) my sister is fine but sometimes she can be a royal pain (shes 16) And my school.. UGG i hate it, everyone is so preppy and so sneeky, i am in the 7th grade and i really try hard but i apparently "dont try hard enough" and i just cant take it anymore! I try to talk to my parents about how upset i am with life, and teachers to help me out with my grades, no one cares. My friends ( which i dont have alot of) are sometimes there for me... PLEASE HELP BEFORE I MAKE A HUGE MISTAKE! thanks...

I would really like to have a myspace and i dont know how to tell my mom...what could i say that would convince her i am mature enuogh to have a myspace???
Basically her reason for not letting me have one is...they attract predators!!!

posted a question because i was having a problem with a neglectful childminder. Had loads of possitive answers but 1 person said i shouldn't have children if i'd rather go to work, what do you think?
is it best to stay at home & not bring anything financial into the home or should we be showing our children, especially our daughters that women have to help make money for nice things like a roof over our heads & money for food? I personaly work 3 days a week for the emergency services and yes i do enjoy my job but i also enjoy hearing my daughter telling her friends how mummy talks to sick people on the phone and sends them "nee naw cars".
Yes we have had trouble with an irisponsible minder and yes i feel guilty for my bad judgment in choosing her but should i just give up work?

I have a step child that me and my husband had desided to both raise him and for me to treat him as my own. we were making all the choices but all of a sudden his mom got involved and she is telling him how to raise kaden(his son). he is believing her and is doing what she says. He now want listen to me at all. but expects me to do what his mom says and i dont agree with any of it. should i just back off and tell him to raise his son on his own or what. and standing up to his mom is not an option because eric my husband wont let me. please help.

I absolutely hate my dad. He has never physically abused me, but mentally. I am in therapy for it. I would never ever talk to him if I could, but I am about to go to college and really need his financial support. Talking to him makes no difference. I have, my mom has, my therapist has he refuses to change. What should I do?

My sister recently started dating this man that my mother and I disapprove of. We feel my sister is just settling for whatever guy came along and we know she deserves better than this guy. It's hard to explain but we just have a bad feeling about him. She also has a 5 year old daughter who we are concerned for. We don't understand why my sister doesn't think more about the people she brings into my niece's life. We're concerned about the kind of life my niece will be exposed to as long as my sister is with this man. What's worse is that this isn't the first time she's been involved with somebody just like him that is sub-par. She acts so differently around him almost like she's too cool for us or something like that. She's rude, sarcastic and sometimes offending. It's just not her at all. My sister is beautiful, talented, smart and deserves everything in the world. We love her and her daughter so much so how do I tell her how we feel without pushing her away?

Well im a 16 yr old boy and I need some help on how to tell my parents that I like the same sex and how I feel deeply about being the opposite gender. I have been with my husband for 4 yrs now and during this time his father has been a nitemare, constantly falling out with myself or my husband over the most trivial things. We havent spoken for nearly 2 yrs and in this time my husband has spoken to him on and off. Now i'm pregnant and things hav gone from bad to worse, He has told my husband that he's f**ked up his life big time and has offered him whatever he wants if he agrees to leave me.

My husband takes my side all the time but it doesn't stop the situation causing problems, i sometimes think he resents me because he doesn't see as much of his family as he'd like and although he takes my side i'm sure he blames me for alot of it.

How do i deal with this, being pregnant don't ned the stress just now!
