You have to do what is right for you. Just living in the same city with your parents is not the same as letting them run your life. If they are continually trying to tell you what to do with your life then you have a problem.

Not at all. I would be gone. I do however live in the same city as my parents but I do not LET them run my life. You choose to let them or not.

NO. Do you have problems with telling them how much you appreciate their desire to do things for you, but you are an adult now and want to do those things for yourself--doesn't mean there won't be times that you will ask them for help, but for right now you feel confident that you are able to handle it, especially since they did such a good job raising you. Now, if you are wanting to move, tell them it's time for their little girl to spread her wings and thank them for doing such a good job raising you that you have such confidence to strike out on your own.
Oh-oh TD has a good point. My advise is only if you are living in your own place--not in their house. If you are in their house, you have no rights.

no - i would consider letting my parents run my life, "letting them run my life". If you live in the same house though, that's your issue.

Heck no! I've seen way too many bad results that come out of that decision. Trust me, if you do, they might become too involved in your children as well.
