Yes and no....

I know now they did the best they could with what they knew but I feel they needed to listen more and see that I may have had valid points and opinions worth listening to. They did not listen nor care that I have an opinion and what they said went !

They were strict, to which I am glad. I am a good person today due to that.

They hoarders, to which I am struggling with still today. I have a problem spending money and hoard as they did. Of course this way of life has made my financial life absolutely wonderful but I stress at the thought of spending from time to time. Something I guess I will take to my grave.

In my senior years I finally spoke up and told them that if I couldn't stay out past 11pm then I just couldn't work for them anymore in their business. If I couldn't be trusted to go out then I couldn't be trusted to help run a business either. They changed their tune and gave me my freedom.

25 years later I have raised my son strictly but with great openness. He can come to me and voice his opinion about anything with no ridicule or put down.

I look back on growing up with mixed feelings but I did not come with an instruction booklet and I have come to the conclusion that they did the best they could.

I think my parents did the best they could. That is all you can ask. I know they loved me. My childhood lacked in many ways. I did not get to spend time with my family as most kids do. But for all the times I was able to those times are my most cherished memories. Even when riddled in pain. I was one of the lucky few. Who knew no matter the shortcomings that they loved me. That means the world to me. I left home at 13 for reasons I will not say. I will always love and respect them.

well i did not know them long but i know they did i think maybe back then parents had more time for their children and maybe its a fact children had more time for there parents, But parents can only take you so far there comes a time you have to stand on your own two feet i suppose the best a parent can hope for is that there children learn from the parents mistakes after all how Manny of us have said to our self if i had a child i would never do something our parents may have done to us, or said to us. as for doing better no i don't think so they did what they did with love in there hearts what can be better than that they taught me to abide by the rules of society but gave me the wisdom to question them and to think for myself . all in all apart from a few damaged parts not caused by them they did a really good job

I make sure that I call my parents AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE to thank them for all that they did and all they provided! I have amazing parents that I believe did a superior job raising me and my sister. Not a single day goes by that I don't tell them how I love, respect and appreciate them.

My mom was by herself, and I think she did the best job she could. I didn't have any self confidence growing up and I'm going to try to do that a little better with my daughter and son.

My parents are doing a horrible job. Thanks to my dad I can't trust people as hard as I try. And he left me to my dandy mother. My mom doesn't care what happens to me. When I get hurt, she tells me what I should have done. My mom has got me locked up in juvenile hall before, she tells my family I have anger and am violent. She has gotten my friends and I suspended from school once.
I CAN'T WAIT TO LEAVE THIS HELL!
