I am a step parent to two boys, when I came into there lives they both wet the bed at ages 12 & 8, there hygeine was undescribable, the 8 year old could not even hold a Knife and fork...

When there dad and I decide to move in together, I said I could not raise my son the way these 2 poor guys had been and although I believe in treats, on the whole I like healthy living and cleanseness etc....

We have worked together for years on this and managed to iron out alot of problems..........but now my partner is not happy and has thrown it all in my face saying he does not like the way I raise the children etc.......I am in shock, I have worked so hard with the children ........they eat things other than chips and dont wet the bed and have manners and are clea, I will never be there mum but I love them dearly and only want the best for them..................

Are step parents always wrong (there mum never wanted them)

my parents are divorced and when i'm with my mom she often drags me to her friends house and it starts out find except for last night it was diferent cause i went to my dads house today and my mom kept telling me to go in the house and watch the kids and she'll give me 5 dollars. So i finally just walked away CRYING because it really hurts the fact that i dont get to see her for another 5 days and i oly got to see her for 2 days before that 5 days and the fist day she had a migrane so we couldnt do anything and the next day we were gonna go walking but then she had a headache supasably then we went to her friends house. So long story short...

my mom drags me to her friends house then she bribes me to watch the kids, she drinks, lets me down, and doesnt spend time with me when i dont get to see her for 5 days. And i was molested by her fiance and i went to counseling wich didnt help and the only person who has helped is my sister because she has gone throught the same thing.advice!

My friend who is 13( she lives with her grandparents) was on punishment so she couldn't talk on the phone for 3 weeks. Her 3 weeks were up so she was talking on the phone. Her grandfather saw her talking on the phone and told her she wasn't suppose to be talking. Then i guess that was the last straw for her grandfatherd he was tired of this and there wasn't enough room for her which is weird because before they had 6 people living there now they only 4. He told his wife they were getting to old and that my friend had to leave. My friends grandmother kept trying to change her husband's mind but she couldn't so she told my friend that she had to respect her husband's wishes because thats what the bible says to do and she doesn't want to fight anymore. But I think that it wouldn't be right to do this because my friend can't live with her mother because she's a drug addict and her father is dead. My friend's grandfather told his wife he stays or my friend stays. Give your opinion on this.

What is the statue of limitations on rape. I know someone of very close relation who this happened to and he’s now 12 years old. And this happened I know for sure in 2005 the thing is the person that did this is his father. And his mother is blackmailing the father with threats of telling what she knows in order to gain financially.
She didn’t report it when it started. And now the father is back in the child’s life and I’m afraid it will start again. Also, the child hasn’t sought any counseling for this. And its really affecting him mentally.
What could be done about this
The only reason the abuse stopped is because of the fact that hurricane Katrina separated them.
They are now back together in Houston, Texas.

As a parent, when your children are grown and out of the house, if they happen to mess up in some way do you ever feel responsable, because if they turn out good many parents take the credit. From which direction should that thought be answered?

My dad's belief system....right or wrong???
'I am your dad you show me respect no matter what, I am right and even if I am wrong in your eyes you still don't argue with me.' (please keep in mind I'm 35,married and have 3 kids of my own) 'If I say you are wrong about something, even if you don't think you did anything wrong you should believe me and back down. ' Am I nuts in believeing that this is not correct?? We recently had an arguement and I said sorry for my part but I have been hurt to and deserve and apology, this was a week ago and still nothing. I know him, he will never call or write unless I give in completely. If I was wrong I would, no problem. But how do you bring yourself to appologize for something you never did? Am I wrong to stand my ground and insist on equal respect? Interested in your opinions.

My daughter is dating a no good for nothing piece of garbage. I don't know what to do to make her see how dumb she is being for staying with him. She lives at home, works and goes to college. She is very respectful to me and we have a loving relationship, I just cannot stand her boyfriend.....and no it isn't that mommy can't let go, she has had other boyfriends that I did approve of. This one can't hold a job, drinks, can't even grow a set of balls big enough to pick her up at the house for a date, she has to go meet him places. I hate that she thinks this is all she is worth

I'm 15, I've noticed that when you make a mistake it's much easier to be forgiven by friends and even other adults than by your parents. It seems parents never forgive, when a kid messes up they frequently punish them in a way that breaks his/her spirit, destroy his/her self-esteem and leaves wounds that in many cases last forever. Parents are the ones who hurt kids the most, who dont forget and always comes back to what happened so as to remind their kids the made mistakes. Why do they act like thgat, why do parents have to hurt so much their kid's feeling and can't accept they make mistakes simply because they are human? That's whay I don't belive in uncontional love. And parents should remember that they were kids too and even now, as adults, they make mistakes.

My little cousin took his own life about a month ago. We all knew he was in some trouble. How can a family deal with hearing his ways of being with his friends now that he is gone. Should you be mad at him for being the way he was or should one just pray that his soul is at ease? Now that his enemies know he is gone..they sort of destroyed his memorial we had for him. How does a family deal with this? Does anyone know?

I thought I had a wonderful relationship with my daughter until about a month ago. I also thought I had been a very good mother. I took an interest in everything she did from horsebackriding to dancing to her studies. I sent her to tutors when she needed academic help, listened to her problems, sent her to college. She is a professional now and she married a great guy a little over a year ago. Since that time, I have become swamped in my own profession and I am working on a Ph.d. A month ago, she told me we were not close, said a lot of hateful things and has not spoken to me since. She refuses to take my calls. Won't answer my emails, I am shocked. I really don't know what I did to cause this other than to be precoccupied with my career and education. It's not as though she is a child. I am deeply saddened by this. I wrote her a long email of how much I love her. Any insights? I cannot think of anything I did to warrent such behavior.

I am a single Mom of 4 , my son was 27, he didn't take college serious, dropped out after 2 years; told him that he would have to pay that expensive party tab (student loan); he wasn't moving along with improvement plans , I told him that he needed to do something to improve his life rather than just working at a store; I said he had to pay 100/month to live at home ,as an incentive to get him to stand up and provide for himself and a family someday; he only paid one month I told him that he would have to move out; he told me to sue/evict him ,he moved out and in with this girlfriend and her family ; during that time, he lost weight, tried out for police dept and got in ; got engaged and now getting married in Sept, 2007; our relationship is strained; my future daughter in law isn't very warm ; they asked me for help $$ for the wedding ; that is the only time they called; I know that after the wedding that will be it with little contact;any help?
