My daughter does not like to bathe or shower. Or change her underwear. i have tried everything i can think of as a parent to get her to practice personal hygeine to no avail. i have talked to her about health and cleanliness. i have bribed her with a reward chart. i have even flipped my lid and screamed my head off. i finally gave up and now i only tell her to shower when she walks past me and i gag. She is a happy kid with friends. She does fine in school. She has all the interests a normal kid her age would have so i really don't think it is psychological. Any constructive help would be very much appreciated! Anyone out there with advice? Thanks in advance!

My Father was also a good friend and a business partner. He died instantly with a stroke. my son was diginosed with cancer a month later. Ten months he held on and then spiked a fever and died. My days are filled with tears and pain as I watch my wife and other son deal with this loss. I don't expect much responce from this question.

I am a daughter in a family of three girls. I am the oldest. I have a sister (who i hate) and I have a down-syndrome sister (who i loved so much) who died at age 18. Between being the oldest girl and having a ds sister, I bearly had any attention. Now that I am twenty-one do you think I might be effected by lack of attention?

My family and I are moving to Romania in March/April. Since everything is already taken care of house, job, schools ect.... My main concern is for our two daughters ages 11 and 6. We are a tightknit family and they are having a hard time leaving family behind. I am hoping for some advice on making things easier for them. I have journals, boxes being shipped and Skype. So any ideas as to how to make this easier for them and me as well would be apreicated.

whenever we did something wrong we had a family meeting after talking about it we decide about physical dicipline for instance my sister one time got spanked for 45 minutesfor coming late around 2 am when she was 16 , ...and every single member of family should contribute ,one at a time, in this discipline and spank or cane the "bad" person... we are still getting spanked , my sister is 26 and I'm 24... but we all turn out to be ok people,,,now you think is it really good way to dicipline since we are all college graduate, drug free... my dad don't let us to live independtly so we should stay at home before getting married... I'm still getting spank if my parents think it is needed...
also, my dad has different stick from different materials which call it "tame tool" is which was/still is my dad's closet, and we had to go on top of table in frog position and they hit you in butt not any other part of body

He is 65 years old. Lately, the past few years he has gotten to where you cant throw anything away. He gets it back out of the trash. Empty tubes of toothpaste, empty underarm deoderant. Not only that he goes out and digs through the neighbors trash. If he sees a pile of junk sitting out where someone has cleaned out their garage/attic or whatever he has a field day. He drags the most worhtless junk home and clutters up my moms house with it, driving her crazy. He has brought home everything from old clothes to worn out furniture and old dirty matresses. We are even worried he is going through the trash getting food as he always comes home from work with "leftover" cookies and donuts he says that they gave him at work.
I have known several old men(70+) who were like this. Is this a common thing for old men to do this? Will i do this one day myself?

We are six in our family. (2sons (23, 27), 2 daughters(20, 28), Mom + Dad). I have moved out of the house permanetly to study (in graduate school - I am the 23 year old). But my older brother and two sisters can't seem to get on with their lives. None of them are in school since finishing high school (except my older sister who stopped after her bachelors) They all work at dead end jobs. My brother owes my mother 6000 dollars, and refuses to pay her back, claiming he has too much debt. My two sisters have stopped talking to my mother and seculed themselves in their rooms. Everytime I call my mother, she keeps telling me she is worried that they will never be able to stand on their own two feet. The friction between my siblings and mother has resulted in constant heated fighting. I try to tell my mom to kick them out of the house and let them fend for themselves, but she can't, claiming it will be an embarassment, and the family will be 'disinhonored' in our community...what to do?

ok, the situation was like this. Next to my house is a vacant lot.. sometime i clean the front /yard from that lot and since i moved to my house couple years ago. i always have problem with this nasty old skinny skank, she have dog and always let her dog shitting and peeing on that front lot/yard.. and never pick-up after that. One day i tried to talk to her but her respond was so rude.. since that day i just never talk to her.. until last couple hour she curse on my mom because my mom just try to talk to her don't let her dog peing over there.. because smell so stink,
then after that we had argue.. she called me b**th.. and other nasty word and still she did not take her dog s.h.i with her..
i just called police and report to them about that skank..
My question is can i make press charge about her because she was so racist and called me other nasty name??
then what should i do to make everybody stop to leave their dog s.h.i.t to that vacant lot?
is there any law or else

my mom passed away when i was 9 and didn't know my dad. i only seen him 3x since age 6. he has denied me a father/daughter relationship and then died last year on my bday. my 18yr old sister had legal gaurdianship of me and my twin sister, but often separated, even in school, as we fought each other.today we are NOT close. my mom had 6 total kids, we are all in diff. states so im alone and now 34, single mom.. I am "frustrated" about things i have gone through in life and would like to know ways people cope with death/trauma.(5 family members passed in 1 year recently) &NO i am NOT on drugs) how did you cope? any time i talked to a dr. they would put me on anti depressants and NO pill will help heal growing up with no parents. doesn't work 4 me
My relationships in the past were all negative, and i stay single now. Why is it that people who grew up with no parents (fathers ) have bad relationships? my twin is co-dependant. im very independant. .. ok enough for now thanks.

I have been punched, scratched, bitten, screamed and cursed at by my 12-yr-old step-daughter. My new husband (of 6 months) has the child staying with a family friend until June. I left my first marriage because I was abused for 7 years. Now I find myself in basically the same predicament. It didn't get better until I left the first time. So, if my new husband is going to allow this person to return to our home, even though we both know the abuse will continue and most likely escalate, then is my only other option to leave him (I have 5 children of my own to protect)?
Also, we tried to get her put into a respite foster home, she is in serious therapy through partial at school and home base. The cops don't care, they said get a no-hit PFA on her. I don't see how that will work when all it does is punish her afterward (she doesn't learn from punishments!!), it doesn't physically restrain her from touching me. So, any other options? Or should I cut my losses?

My parents spend NO time with me. My dad is always at work and when he is home then all he does is sleep. Or when he's not at work he's at the gym or with his friends. My mom is either helping my brother with his homework or playing with my sister or taking my siblings to one of their friends house. They always take their sides or let them use my stuff, after I tell them they can't because they break it or lose it. What should i do? I have tried talking to them, they don't seem to care.
