Depends. When I was a child under the age of 8 I always kissed my parents goodnight on the lips. It was a peck, nothing more nothing less. At some point I didn't feel comfortable with that anymore and kissed them on the cheek. I kiss my family on the cheeks to this day.

But I've noticed that the majority of children in my family are lip kissers too. Years ago, I was visiting my aunt and uncle's home and their little girl (4) was going to bed and kissing everyone goodnight. I presented my cheek and she just stood there looking at me like I had lost my mind with her lips puckered. My aunt and uncle chuckled at me and informed she was a lip kisser. I turn, looked at her, pursed my lips and with a quick peck she ran off to bed.

I guess by the responses most other families don't kiss on the lips. It never meant anything in my family other than a show of affection and love. It just didn't mean anything that other people seem to be reading into it. I suppose it is a "just in my family" thing.

NO! Oh, absolutely NO! I would be very upset as a parent if ANY relative decided to try that with any of my children while they were minors. I consider that a sign of predatory behavior, and would make sure to PROTECT my children from the PREDATOR for sure.
