Mt boyfriend is 30 yrs old and I am 23. We have been living together for just 6 months. He just told me that he wants to adopt one of his nephews who is 13 yrs old, his mother died about 5 yrs ago, and I guess the people who he is living with are not treating him well. Should I just say ok lets adopt him or umm is it a big deal, something that we really need to talk and think about... I um sort of scared. My first reaction is that maybe I am not ready to take care of a teenager. But my boyfriend said that we were both adults and it should not be hard.

don't make enough money at all to even rent an apt. My parents are great support, but we have way to many arguments about who the actual parent of my child is. My son is supposed to sing in the Christmas pagent at our church with me. He fought the rehersal tonight and cried. We were bribing him and doing everything we could to get him to stop crying but being nice about it because he is very tired. My dad came up and just yelled at him until he cried worse. My son reached the "gaspy" cry stage and wasn't going to be able to sing until he calmed down. My dad turned to me and said I suggest you just give up on this he can't sing (he knows the song backwards and fwds). I looked at my dad and (I am usually really really passive about the actions they take) and said I suggest you butt out of it and go away! He walked off all offended. My friend took my son to calm him down. I stayed crying myself and my mother defended dad. Am I wrong to have said this? How should I deal with this now?

My brother is the black sheep in the family. He's a drug addict, and recently got an std from some random girl. When my father died, he put his entire inheritance including money and property in an account and named me sole executor. My brother wasn't happy. He thought that I had convinced our father to leave him out, and now refuses to talk to me or have anything to do with our dying mother. I sent him a check for nearly half of the money, but he sent is back saying that he "didn't need our dirty money". Then I tried explaining things to him, but he wouldn't listen. What should I do to try to reconnect with him.

I feel like I am an outcast at school.
I don't like sports.
I like anime.
I like video games
and I don't talk much because of those things. So what should I do? I feel if I let them know who I really am, then they will never talk to me again!

I married a guy years ago (divorced now) that had a daughter who was 4 years old when I met them. Her real mother left them when she was one year old, she doesn't know her real mom at all. Well, we were married for 5 years, and after our divorce, we stayed in touch a lot, we visited each other all the time. I got remarried, and now have 2 beautiful kids with my current husband. My question is this: My step daughter and her dad (who is remarried too) moved to the other side of the country. I do not talk to my step daughter that much anymore, I am busy with my own family and frankly there is not a lot to talk about. Should I cut all ties with her and risk her being heartbroken because I abandonded her too, or should I start calling her more often to get back up to speed with her? I hope this makes sense. I just wanna know if its wrong that I don't talk to her anymore, or should I feel obligated?

Your teenage daughter has brought home a group of friends and they start trying out your clothes, accessories, shoes etc without your permission. What's the difference if you bring home friends and they start running through your daughter's clothes and let their children try them out??

With reverse seperation anxiety? Everytime my kids go somewhere overnight I feel sick. And I know rationally that their ok. I don't let them go anywhere where I don't know the parents personally and check out the environment to be sure it's safe and functional. Even when they go to my parent's house overnight I feel sick to my stomach. Any suggestions beside peppermint tea?

We had a family in our town that lost evrything they had last week to a house fire. They have received so many things like clothes and food and furniture and money. I was thinking about donating a gift cert to a local photographer so they can get a family protrait and pics of their kids and some really nice frames. I also have a really nice dish set that I had with an ex that I dont use anymore. Do you think those would be nice or do you think I should stick with money and clothes.

this poor girl killed herself because of what her father did to her and other young girls he is trying to say she made it all up because they had a falling out.come on.and the jury they are no better than him for believing his story, for gods sake she was a chess prodigy ; not a liar as he made her out to be ; how could he do that to his own daughter at the end of the day,the only poor soul who lost out by throwing herself out of a window WAS jessie for telling the truth. because at the first sign of light im changing my bank to a reputeable company, well as the saying goes he,s got away with murder and laughing all the way to his bank well not mine any more. the royal bank of scotland should sack him, and think about theire female coleagues who works alongside that piece of scum !!!!!!
