...and his parents officially my in-laws as well. I think officially it is just he that is my in-law, does anyone know for sure?

Oh, the "In-Laws."
...any relationship term ending with "-in-law" indicates that the relationship is by marriage and not by blood; in other words, one of us is a blood relative of the other’s SPOUSE.
Basically, the person getting married is the one who inherits the "in-laws," so yes, he is your brother-in-law, but no, "she" is not your "sister-in-law."
at least not legally.
at least that's what I think.
D*mn. Good question.

The in-law relates only to the one married to the person. If your sister is married...spouse is bro-in-law, but your not related in any way to the rest of his family....his parents are your sisters mother and father-in-law...not yours.

Don't say a phrase to sister-in-regulation approximately this. You picked who you desired to be on your marriage ceremony. She will get to select who she wishes in hers.

You are only related to your sibling's spouse & any children they have together. The spouse's siblings are not related to you at all.
For this reason, it is technically possible for two brothers to marry two sisters. Kinda weird, but it can happen.

He is your brother-in-law. His sister is your sister's sister-in-law, his parents are your sister's in-laws. They are not related to you in any way.

I have always assumed that she would be your sister-in-law...but the remainder of her relatives were your brother's inlaws, not yours.
