Your teenage daughter has brought home a group of friends and they start trying out your clothes, accessories, shoes etc without your permission. What's the difference if you bring home friends and they start running through your daughter's clothes and let their children try them out??

Take it from a once and recently teen - DONT say anything to her in front of her friends - she will not only be upset because you embarassed her but she doesnt want her friends to think your lame - every kid want their friends to think their parent is the "cool" parent whether you are or not. DO talk to her when her friend have gone home- dont make a big deal out of it because if you do, so will she.

If she's a teenager, she ought to know better. Tell her flat out that it's not acceptable for her to be going through your things without permission. And come up with some kind of consequences, after all, she really should have known better.

Sit her down and tell her that it was not right, not okay with you, and a violation of your privacy.

Then ask her the question you asked us - how would SHE feel if your friends went through her stuff?

If she doesn't get the message, try doing it. Don't bother to put the clothes back. :)

I would make them take off all of MY stuff, and tell my daughter taht she knows better than to let her friends do that, and they would have to leave. They might be allowed to return, IF they could show more respect for other peoples belongings.

How old is your daughter? She should know better than to allow her friends into your space. Since she apparently does not know better, you need to tell her that your room and space is off limits to her friends or anyone without your explicit consent.

Who is the child here? If you don't like it, punish her. That is assuming she was told in the past that this was inappropriate behavior. Personally, I would not have a problem with it as long as nothing disappeared.
