My mom is now trying to find a boyfriend. She asked me if it was ok with me if she dated and i said no but she still is trying to get with someone. She just gets on myspace and yahoo messenger and talks to guys. SHE DIDNT EVEN MAKE DINNER FOR ME!!!

You sound like you are old enough to make your own dinner. Your mom needs some "adult" time, too. Wju don't you suggest making dinner together so you get to spend some time with her?

Every situation is different, but something you should remember is that adults need time too. I like the suggestion one made about making dinner together. It might be a good time to talk about why her dating bothers you....think about it to yourself first and decide if it's her dating that you don't like or possibly losing more time together. Or maybe you could simply use the time to get to know each other better. If it's always been the two of you then it is totally understandable that you may be uncomfortable with this idea of dating, but I'm sure you have your friends and some day you will be out on your own and your mom will want some companionship too. I don't know how old you are, but at any age you should be open with your feelings in a non-hurtful, understanding way. If your mom is sleeping on the couch...maybe she could be tired...try bringing her a cup of coffee (if you are old enough to make one) and gently wake her up. Just sit beside her while she's drinking it and talk about each other's day. Communication and understanding go a long way and it works both ways. Good luck and I hope all works out well. Also, I met my husband on lavalife...we talked for a month before meeting and now my two children have two step-brothers, one step-sister and I have a best friend for life. Things can work out.

Well I think your mom should give you attention before she gets
on the computer. She needs to make sure she make dinner for
you each night, unless she decide to go out and buy you dinner. There should always be time for you no matter if she does
have a boy-friend, because a boy-friend can come and go but you
will always be by her side and she needs to recognize. She should
never put a man before her children. And You too need to give her some space once she gets a boy-friend it works both ways.
As long as both of you understand and give each other the attention you both need. There is always time for you don't you
forget. Talk to her tell her how you feel, because she will never
know how you feel if you don't express your feelings. I am a single parent and I give all my attention to my daughters and at
night it would be for me. So just don't hold nothing back let her
know it will be okay.

i dont want to say its true but i think it is if she didnt make dinner for you and stays on myspace and yahoo messenger than i think she isnt paying much attention to you. what you could do is like do something kind of bad and see if she notices. she has to still love you !!

I think your mom is so caught up in this, she may be forgetting to spend her quality time with you! Talk to her and try to sort things out. Once she understands, you guys can be friends again.
